EJ20 is a low revving slug, only advantage it has is a low centre of gravity, and an inability of people to work on them due to the spark plugs being half a spark plug length from the side of the car, and you can't get a plug spanner on the buggers!! Not only that but WRX boxes are notorious for breaking.
As mentioned, there are other ways to AWD a TA22, like putting a twin turbo 1UZ-FE and GT-R running gear in.
I think you and your mate shouldn't bother follow up with reasearch on your drunken arguments(speaking from experience here...)
