I believe the LS2's I used did not require an igniter...another reason I chose them. Driven straight off the ECU 5v and hence why you need the iGf signal. The coils have 3 inputs, 12v, gnd and signal (unlike stock 2 wire). I can't remember all the results of my research, but these are better. We compared with stock spark cranking engine, these things crack like mad. Side by side, the spark maybe twice as thick (hard to judge that bit) and definately whiter and brighter. The stockies....well maybe 15yrs and 200k km's make them weaker. At the time I had the option of new coils for $650 a set of six and then maybe a HKS DLI for $400 or the LS2's. Got them for $150 off a 50k km V8. $60 for leads. Was a lot more work in mounting and wiring (plus the yiccup with igf, but well it was worth it). Gap wider with no blow out.
..and you even got 2 spare coils )) thanks, very useful info
