These are the new springs added, camber is not to bad and like I said we might try and correct this with off set bushes in the trailing arms.

Wonder how the IRS conversion would go in an ra28?![]()

Very nice. I've always been a fan of this conversion.
77GZE, the floor pans and track widths for the 28 are incredibly similar to the RA40, so a conversion with this setup would be identical. The drawback is the variable camber of the trailing arm IRS design. Also, without modifying the trailing arms you can't lower the car significantly without adverse effects on handling and tyre wear.
For this reason, I'll be putting an S13 IRS setup in my 23... Much pain is anticipated, but the result will be 'SHIT HOT'.
Nikita the RA23 is almost finished.
dont forget the width differences. RA40/rt142 = 1410
RA28 = 1375
hello
Hence me putting the ma45 1410mm diff into the ra28, brings the dragway rims out niceley to fill the guards looks mint!~!
Cant wait for that write up mang!Originally Posted by tricky

If you go with a 1410mm rear end in the RA28, a +35mm silva offset wheel fixes this up and just clears the guards.
Very interested to hear how the S13 rear end goes.. I've got a RA28 rear 1/2 cut i've been thinking about trying that with.
S13 is a lot wider though I understand?
The setup is identical, but the widths make everything different. The tops of the springs are different and all. The subframe rails and rocker sills are all closer together, so fitment will become a fair bit of an issue.Originally Posted by tricky
Im contemplating a conversion in later years into an RA28, but am a toyota purist, so nissan or mazda or whatever parts are out of the question for me. Im guessing the GT4 rear track is too wide also, maybe it could be shortened?? Also I want adjustable camber, so thats going to be an engineering nightmare. If anyone does anything like this with something similar to an F series rear end in a Gen 1 celica without resorting to FWD offset rims, let me know.

Ive for the +34mm rims on the front & rear of my RA28..
With the 1410mm F series diff they are a perfect fit in the rear.
On the front they sat in too far, but with the xt130 hubs that brought them out another 8mm or so..
Then the KE70 xmember is a bit wider again so its now got a close to equal track front and rear.. All worked well!

remember that changing the rotors and callipers does not affect the positioning of the hub on the stub axle. they were XT130 struts to begin with as well (single piston calliper ones)
hello
Yeah thats right.. The extra track from XT130 is caused by the hubs.
are they the same as the RT132 struts?
hello
