    Default 4AGE 100kw died - electrical problems?

The 100kw 4AGE engine in my Suzuki Sierra does the other week, just came to a complete stop. I towed it home and checked all the usual things, fuses, connections, relays etc but found nothing out of the ordinary. Mechanically it seems fine so I am thinking it must be something electrical. The symptoms I have are that the fuel pump does not work when cranking and there is no spark. I have swapped the distributor and tried another ECU. Other than this I dont know what could be wrong with it. I just know its going to be something stupid and easy to fix but I really dont know if there is anything else that might be obvious. Open to all suggestions.

start with checking power to the ignition switch with a multimeter.
then check power from ign swithc to ECU
    then check power to injectors
then check power to fuel pump etc...

find where the voltage trail stops, and use multimeter

I would look into why no fuel pump, as all faults will probably be related and it will be easiest to find.

Find the relay, and make sure it has a +ve feed with the key on, and earth and a start feed.

Thats' all it need as when you power it with the start feed and earth the earth,
it connects the batt/ign feed to the pump.

I'd guess you have no power on the batt/ign feed so will be a fuse or fusible link problem.

    Hey,

What you may find is that the ignition switch is dropping ignition when you go to crank, have had a couple of those kind of problems at work. Just a suggestion as you said the fuel pump only stops working when you go to crank.

    Hope it helps.....

Thanks Guys, all replies noted. I havent looked back at it yet but to be a little more specific, I have no fuel pump or spark at all, not just on crank. I hooked the pump straight to the battery to have it pumping but as there was no spark still no ignition. I have power to the ECU but there doesnt seem to be anything coming from it eg no power to the pump relay. This is why I tried another ECU. Thinking it might be the CAS I tried another dizzy but still the same. I will just have to keep chasing the power as oldcorollas suggested but thanks for the input.
