Default 1G Taking off the head?

Hey, just wondering if possible to take off 1g head without taking turbo's and inlet man off? And if so is it wise to do this way? Thanks

Possible? Of course it is. But you'd have a much easier time if you do remove the inlet/exhaust manifolds. The combination of manifolds, turbos, and the rest will make the thing weigh a fair bit i'd say.

I wouldn't be too keen on trying it. You still have to remove turbo oil and water lines anyway, and thats the shittiest bit of the whole job anyway.

The worst part of removing the water lines is when the crappy weak studs that hold the water pipes to the turbos break

I reckon the easiest way of taking the head off is by pulling the whole motor out. Unless the cars on the hoist, getting to some of the bolts will be a pain in the arse. Sure there are a bunch of electrical plugs plus the trans but taking the head off while the engine is out is much easier.

    Good luck.
