1UZ - 11L/100km in 1500 kg auto Crown barge, 130 rwkW. No oil leaks, no head gasket, no rebuilding of oil pump, no chewed out cams.......

I suppose that's the difference between 50's Anglo American technology and 80's Japanese tech.

Like I said above, Camry V6 will deliver more power (than a Rover V8), have better economy, fit just as nicely and be a turn key proposition every time.

1MZ FTW....a TA22 is just beggging for one of these. They are cheap, relatively easy to RWD, light and strong. Will meet the capacity reg, sound horn and you'll probably be the 1st in the world to have done it Plus, evryone on here will love you for it

All you have to do is carve a little bit out of webbing out of the block. Sump will work nicely with a TA22. It's a beautiful thing.

Webbing out of the block? Please explain more..? Anyways the 1MZ by the looks of it isn't as good as the 3MZ 3.3L.

    If I were to use a 4.0L i'd use a UZ...

Main reason I was tinkering with a rover motor was it was 3.5L V8. I mean seriously everyman will say f**k oath when they sit in a lumpy V8 its just a guy thing! (and the motor weighs as much as a 2TG) The V6 is a great motor and deserves respect where its due but, i'm not sure if it's going to serve the same as what a high compression 4 or lumpy V8 can... At the end of the day A car can not be driven to its full potential on the street, so thats why I want to pick a motor that has the bling, sound, and feel.. If you know what I mean? The MZ series by the looks of it, totally light weight with full alloy block, heads with DOHC, VVT-i and 4v per cyl.. Theres not a lot more you could want.. Light, revvy, decent amount of power and torque and would without a doubt respond well to a twinscrew supercharger =]

They have to accrew enough for nose reconstructions as well as feeding his mime family. The dont talk much so they never need much water for their dry mouths.

Methinks a 1MZ with appropriate inlet and exhaust mods would sound very horn indeed. Not a V8 throb but you'll still turn heads!

I also think this is a tops idea. I didn't know it was so easy to RWD them though, what bellhousing do you use?

GT VZ adaptor ring + modified R series bellhousing bolts straight up.

Somebody reckons an S series one might fit. I would like to try this on for size so if anybody has a spare one just to borrow for trial fitting, PM me.

S series bolts right up (well kinda) Why do you think i have been promoting this as THE GT4 mod to do for years now. Took some serious arm twisting to get Squiddy to have a crack at this for his 165 (i even found him the minter engine), so now he's on the way we will hopefully see a GT6 before the year is out

The 3500 is used from the 60's all the way to 04 according to wikipedia. The engine suffered the same problems over its life time? I'm sure the 04 model 3500 would have a decent block cast?

Other than the 3500 (my dad likes them) what is the Smallest, Lightest V8 under 4.0L? (besides the UZ)
