    Default 1GGTE swapping to 7MGTE 440cc injectors

hey guys i have some 440cc injectors for my 1GGTE
but on close inspection ive noticed the clips that would connect to the injector is fractionally diffrent to that of the normal 1ggte ones (the pattern on the injector for clipping them into the plug is diffrent) . i dont know what people did to make them fit. did they just grind of the 2 side clip locators and use the top locator and just the pins themselves to hold them in place + the connection to the fuel rail and deem this a good enough connection?
anyone who has done this can you please help me out.

7mgte injectors only clip into gen 1 or gen 2 1ggte injector plugs

You can either file the notch or more correctly switch to Gen1/2 plugs. That said, there is no reason to switch to 7M injectors without an aftermarket ECU or a need for more fuel.

haha ill need more fuel definatly
i am running a fully worked cylinder head with head work and cam regrind, and im going to get my CT12A turbochargers fitted with 320HP GT28R cores and highflowed. plus i have an excelent aftermarket ecu its a WOLF V500 so its more than capable of handeling it all.
and i will def need the 440's yes changing the plugs is viable, does anyone have any? of gen 2. or i might just need to file of some of the connection tabs.
all your help is much appreciated

I bought new plugs to suit the 7mgte injectors from i think powerflowinjection.com.au or injectorsonline.com.au something similar. I Simply un picked the wire from the old plug and slotted them into the 7mgte plug.

    thanks hypo and pube,
yeah i got the injectors sent over from perth to me.. so i dont have the clips just the injectors,
and hypo your 23 makes me hard HAHA
i saw yours in fast fours and you were an inspiration to make mine as nice as mine is today
soo looks like i might just file them when the time comes... unless sombody solves my problems before then... with gen 2 clips or somthing

As you have a aftermarket ecu... Just file off the tab at the top like has been suggested. This you will also note that the injectors will have a different impedance as to what you are running now. (This has to do with the location of the tab). So check to see if the ecu needs anything changed in the program.

cheers yeah ill ask my tuner about it..
    also 2 questions forcefed6
    1. i got my adjustable 1ggte cam gears off you and i think that i need to file out the key way abit more to fit the loaction pin in? did anyone else have to do that cause im not keen to have a really really tight fit and squeeze the pin it.
and 2. what will the impedence figures be if you know??
    cheers

Yep, that is the important bit of information that was required. The injectors are shaped differently to designate the difference either high/low impedence.

    cheers Chuck.
