The cold start injector, if connected will supply enough fuel to get the engine to think about running.

Brett, its not the size difference thats important, its the high current verse low current thats a problem. If the ecu is configured to fire the wrong resistance injectors it won't be happy.

yep this is definately something i would check.

and also,

what values have you got in your enrichements boxs? you might just need a bit more cold start enrichement??

im mainly talking about "cranking enrich" and "coolant enrich"

in reference to rod's question,

check the injector control (in wari) for the value of current (A) and whether the peak-hold box is checked

Quick post: yes, I'm using the right injectors. No, the setup doesn't use the stock cold start injector.

I discovered using a noid light that the injectors are only pulsing once during crank, which is in line with the behavior - fuel starvation. Given that the ecu thinks that the injectors are pulsing, this indicates a problem with the ecu. I'm going to send it back for testing once I check some more wiring.

check some of those parameters i listed in the wari software,

maybe your motor is cranking slower then the other 1g and not triggering start enrichment and the like
