Yep, my car makes a few new weird whining and jangling noises since the old kamikaze single died and the OS twinplate went in.
Tis all normal I say
Project megap00 - Gave up and sold up. Money tree died
that OS twin plate video would be much louder if he depressed the pedal for longer, only getting a tiny quick jingle there, mine is a bit louder than that.
i love my twin plate, would never go back to a single plate clutch arrangement
also, in regards to the frcition point of the OS clutch (mine is type TS2BD), the natural point is very low, right near the floor in fact. i had a few issues when setting mine up and there wasnt enough travel with the throwout bearing and the assemlby would jam up when things heated up a little.

Okay. Just installed an exedy twin plate into the soarer, any tips on bedding it in at all?

just the usual, dont hammer the car until its done a few kms (i.e. no clutch dumps and try to avoid slipping it).Originally Posted by Pimpin_1JZ

I'd say 200-500 would be more than enough... just no track days or massive slippage early on (actually, try to avoid massive slippage all the time). twin plates prefer to be treated like $2 whores rather than luxuriously pampered.
i have read/heard this on more than one occasion. i slip mine from the lights a little but it would be no more than what'd you do with a stock clutch - i pretty much opperate it as if it is a factory clutch and its not difficult to do so at all.Originally Posted by Draven
are you saying id get more life from my clutch if i wasnt so particular with letting the pedal out? even just on a daily driving take off?

it's more people who ride it all the way up their driveway etc. I slip mine a normal amount at lights as well... better than chirping with every takeoff (there are other clutches for that)
The plates in a twin plate a much thinner than a normal single clutch, so when you put a lot of heat into them (i.e. slipping them), you are much more likely to warp a plate!

they are a consumable component and the only reason they wear out is due to being slipped so short answer = yes, but in having said that i would rather wear out a clutch and be able to replace plates every 2 years than be changing other drivline related components so slip away (just not too much).Originally Posted by spiller
