Done and done James![]()
With the phone I was thinking about going all maguyver and getting two lantern batteries I saw in the servo (6v), hook em up in series to get 12v with atleast a decent load capability, chop off the ciggy plug and strip the wires back n see if the inverter would power up and run the phone charger.
But then I couldn't figure out where i'd find wire to link the batteries, and what if it didn't work n shit like that. I was fairly sleep deprived at the time so brainstorming was hard. Damn I wish I was maguyver, or atleast... fuck. I had a screw driver, I may have been able to have wired up the ciggy lighter socket.............. argh! Sleep now![]()
Done and done James![]()
Haha I think the lack of sleep definitely didn't help the direction finding.
Sounds like a crap drive. Didnt think about sleeping after the micro incident?
Oh yeah, nah definately pulled over after the wake up call. Eyes were wide as once I got back on the road. Not sure how long I slept for, maybe an hour or two. Has kept me going alright. Next time I just want to take my time. I think I spent as much time driving up and back as I did just being in Sydney, which is shit.
Before I forget to mention, it was really great catching up with so many people, it's so worth the drive to come up and easily greet other Toyota enthusiasts, like the guys from the madrollaz(spell?) club were great and yeah, finally got to shake River's hand hahaha. Hmm. Anything on between now and Nationals? Or anyone want to meet in Vic?
I'll probably be taking a trip to Vic before the nationals, if I do I'll give you a call![]()
Orgasmic.
Anybody care to add content/comments/chops to this photo, I get the feeling it's a keeper:

There needs to be an award at Toyotafest for the person that made the biggest effort to attend. You would have had that one in the bag, James.
Driving through the night on Friday after work to get to Sydney at 10:30am Saturday... stay up all day and go to Stitt's bbq 'til after midnight on Saturday night... with only a few hours sleep, get up at 7am to attend Toyotafest all day Sunday and then drive home in the evening for work on Monday. An absolute marathon effort.
I was pretty worried for you though man... Don't do that shit again. I'm glad you had luck on your side and made it home ok.

Yar I'm with Slim, great to catch up with you mate, but take your time next time...
I'm not sure about any "big" events, Megacruise is on in November, but it's a long drive, for another long drive.
Ahhh sorry I missed it again. Looking forward to seeing some more photos up though.
Ahh, looks like good times were had. I shall endeavour to hold up my end for the westies and be in attendance next year!

does anyone know when pics from toyota fest 2008 are gana be put in the gallery
I have to give a huge thanks to everyone who braved the threatening weather and early start due to daylight savings to come out and show some awesome cars for Toyotafest. Attendance was down this year as expected but we still had 80 cars and the qualty of cars on display was top notch. The support of the various clubs that came along is much appreciated and will be rewarded next year with a couple of club trophies, most likely highest club representation and best club display. It was especially nice to see the out of towners, we had cars from Newcastle, Canberra, Melbourne and FNQ, plus spectators from all over the place.
I have to give a big thanks to all the people involved in running the day, the Toymods board obviously especially Dav for organising everything, Chuck Jason Simon Simon and Rod for judging, Mrs Dav for selling a tonne of raffle tickets and Ben for looking after membership. I'm sure there are others I should be thanking but it was all a bit of a blur for me after a while.
On a personal note I need to thank Rod for working retarded hours with me and keeping me motivated to get the old MS51 back together and down to the show.
Dav will get the results up online this week and he took photos of every car in attendance so they will find their way up onto the gallery. We've got the drags tomorrow night and then Toyotafest is over again for another year so we can figure out how to make it bigger and better for next year.
Jack, ATMO_BT1 on these forums, was covering it for Zoom / Hot 4's, though not sure which magazine it will be going in...Originally Posted by Draven
Last year he covered it aswel and we got a spread and a few cars got picked up for features later on!

Hi,
Okay... here's the wrap...
Well, another ToyotaFest has come, and sadly now has passed… until next year.
I’m not sure about others, but the rain on Saturday made cleaning the car difficult, I cleaned the inside but could not do the exterior. She was still pretty clean on the outside, but she hadn’t been washed, or used, since the TRD Canberra trip. However, I did put on the Historic plates and Riverina put on some lovely gold lettered “Toymods Historic Vehicle” on the rear plate holder.
I missed a called from Lambo in the late afternoon, and it was early evening by the time I called him back. He kindly offered to take Trini. I wasn’t expecting to bring her also, but hey, why not! I would have to clean her down on the day. I rushed out a quick sheet on Trini to stick on her windscreen.
Reversing up my steepish driveway, which was wet, provided much mirth for Lambo, as the RA25 just spun those pissant, bullfuck, Ethiopian-skinny-arse, cheese-cutter stock tyres. It took about four goes, but at least I can now say that I have drifted the RA25…. And did it in my driveway! I must get wider tyres, despite being on historics, ‘cos those tyres are dangerous.
Oh, I also made some sexy fridge magnets of the 88 just for the hell of it. It was the least I could do seeing no jumping castle turned up. And, talking of things not turning up…. Where the fuck was the Whippy man? Where the fuck was Mr Whippy.Where the fuck was YLD?
Getting to Auburn at 7:00am, in the cold drizzle, and after losing an hour of sleep due to DLS was a treat that I relish…… NOT! So, we stood about like shags on a rock, walking outside, and then under cover, and then outside, and then undercover, while we mulled over where we should put the cars. I mulled more than the others and by the time the first cars started showing up I was pretty much mellowed and mulled for the day.
Lambo had some tiny whiz-bang internet gadgety thing, whose small size was only matched by its slow internet speed. However, it eventually spat out the weather radar map and it showed some clearing. But, just when we were going to park outside, a very light drizzle came down. So, we decided to go under cover.
Lambo wipes down Trini so she is looking nice, and just when he is finished Ben comes up to me with a fuse the size of a cigar and tells me that Man-titty has broken down and needs a fuse. Apparently the Westinghouse died at the intersection of Windsor Road and the Cumberland Highway. What a nice place to break down! So, I took the fuse, and another one that Mos gave me, got into Trini and made the journey to save Man-titty. This isn’t the first time Trini, in all her reliable stock sturdiness, has come to the rescue to aid a stranded modded vehicle. I’m thinking of putting “Toymods Rescue and Recovery Vehicle” along her side.
Gave Man-titty the fuse, but the Westinghouse wouldn’t start as its battery was dead. So, Trini had to go out into the intersection, facing the wrong way, where we bumped noses so we could jumper the Westinghouse. We took some pics just in case it was caught on camera and I had to defend myself from a fine. Once the Westinghouse fired up we followed Man-titty, just in case he needed her services again, but all was fine and we made it back.
The cars just started rolling in and there were some magnificent machines. It was bone city! I loved the Crowns, and it is good to see some old ones there both stock and modified. The Celicas, as always, where in abundance and all looked great, be them classics or the later models. Oh the old Coronas were out in force. Fantastic stuff. Not to be outdone, the Rolla’s covered a lot of different models and by gee, by crikey, by jingo, they looked awesome. The Supra lads always bring some bloody sweet rides along and their display was delicious eye-candy.Yep, the undercover car park was Bonerville for the day.
Dying of thirst and hanging out for a coffee, I made the trip upstairs but the cafe was closed. Spastics!!!!!! Mind you the Outdoors shop was opened. So, although I couldn't get a coffee, I was able to buy a tent.
My “I think They Could Be Gay” theory took another pounding when Keanu, Clintoris and even Mos turned up with female company. Though, let’s be honest, the jury is still out on Clinty… he may swing both ways.
In the interests of safety and health, all 18R-G powered vehicles were told to leave their bonnets down. The reason our insurance premium for the event has risen sharply was due to people smacking their heads on the concrete as they pass out in exquisite joy when they see an exposed 18R-G. So, this year we kept the bonnets shut…. Oh, except for MAD79R, who was not entered at the show, but turned up for a captain’s cook and left his bonnet up. It took us nearly an hour to revive the people. Fortunately, not being in the event means MAD79R will have to pay the medical and jock-cleaning bills, and not Toymods.
I’m sure I saw that strange little man again - the dude who goes to Al Palmers and the NRMA Classic Car events. With an empty drink container in one hand, a skewed base-ball cap on his head, a camera in the other hand, and a perennial bulge in his pants, he wandered about effusing the wonders of Toyotas and how he owned any model of Toyota before they were actually built. I’m still waiting to see the picture of his 1967 Celica.
Did anyone else get bothered by that strange chick with the iPhone? And, OSJ impressed me, not only with his superb collection of vehicles he always brings along, but the fact that the fridge magnets I made would stick to his head. WTF is with that!!!!
The Jap dude who kept pointing to the fender mirrors on the RA25 and saying something like “baza gooto” in an excited manner. I finally figured he was asking for something and I smiled an nodded. To my dismay he then ran to the car and began to run his scrote over the mirrors, while his eyes rolled back into his head. Luckily Fonzy’s car and another nice TA22 were nearby, both with fender mirrors, and I showed him those. I think he spent the better part of the day rubbing himself over Fonzy’s car, but Fonzy likes that sort of thing so it was okay.
Blu-22 obviously thought the car park a dangerous place to park and he unbolted the wheels and attached some strange locking devices. And, if that wasn’t enough, he proceeded to place a large chain around his car. I noticed bits of skin and pubic hair on the chain, along with fresh blood, so I figured he had some fun at home with the chain before he got to Toymods. Hmm, may also explain why Riceburna was walking with a limp and a silly grin.
Where was Witlz? How gay are you! Tommy G-spot, Wolfman Jack and Crystal-meth turned up, late as usual, for a gander. Why didn’t you guys enter your cars????
The cross-nippled Viper cleaned his car when he got there. He cleaned it all morning. He could not partake in food or sustenance at lunch ‘cos he was polishing his car. A single drop of rain fell on a nearby suburb around 2pm, and this made him go out and re-polish the car again. And, just when he was almost finished, my Dark Friend, who was on the upper level and in a shop, sneezed and thus prompted another re-polish. When it was time to go the car had to be polished again.
A man and his dog often look similar and this was definitely the case with Chubbs and Tomvale, except Chubbs has the bigger sack. Well, that’s what Mitch told me.
Puzzleman wandered about, crooning about me helping with pics and videos he was doing. I was a tad disappointed ‘so I told him I wouldn’t help unless she showed me rude pics of his wife, only to find out my collection of pics of hjis wife were better than his! Oh well, I made some money selling them to him.
Oh my god…. Did anyone see the mullet brigade? Some of the best mullets I had ever seen were parading around the place. I’m not sure if they were visitors looking at the cars or they came from the rolla club. They definitely weren’t Celica owners, as we are stupendously handsome, nor could they drive a Crown ‘cos you need to be unattractive and have piggy little child molester eyes (did you notice every Crown had a bag of boiled lollies inside?), and the Corona guys… well, they’re just old and senile. So, the mullets could very well be rolla owners. When I get my TE27 I’m gonna grow me a mullet… which will probably take longer than it will to get the TE27!.
Talking of hair... did anyone see the Dark One's buzz-cut? It really showed what I thought, that his head is shaped like a crescent moon.

Despite how tired he was, Pretty-boy remained awake all day. He knows all too well that if you fall asleep then you’ll get a rubber dildo shoved in your ear and a happy photo of it put onto the forums for all to see.
Toyota turned up with a TRD Aurion and if we give them more notice next year they will try and bring more TRD cars along, which would be great. And, the dude arrived at 4pm driving a Lexus IS-F. I’m not one to salivate over modern cars, but crikey, the IS-F is a bloody nice car. Of course they had to settle for some souped up V8, but that’s the price you have to now pay since the 18R-G was forced out of production due to planetary warp-field and jiz-in-the-pants issues.
I was a little surprised at how popular Trini was, especially with the females. I guess it’s her bright colour and those sexy wheels. I can’t wait to spend some more money on her to get the final bits done so she will look even better. The WA girl… with the cap… and the purple RA28… how lovely were you!.
The trophies were handed out and they were all deserved winners. And, to use a well worn wanky tired-arse saying, Toymods was the winner on the day. The day drew to its inevitable close where the bins lay overfull with used tissues, a g-banger and a bra with one cup. Numbers were slightly down on last year, but considering the weather and no jumping castle or Mr Whippy, it was a fine turn out. The last of us left at around 4:30pm, already looking forward to next year. However, fear not my Toyota-loving friends and Mandy Pandy, the Megacruise is on in a few weeks, and we can all get together again to laugh, cry, joke and piss in each others pockets. Marvellous stuff!
Well, that's it from me.
