Cheers for all the great responses, guys - shall be dishing out the Rep love shortly!!

It's sounding less and less worth it - I was hoping for a cheaper and preferably potentially more powerful alternative to sidedraft webers, but it doesn't appear that it will be... I'm not super keen to switch my head out at this stage, cos my engine has had a bit of work done to it - was trying to utilise the mods, not abandon them!

    Barefoot,

Reading your "Barefoot's TA22" thread and reading this one. I need to clear something up with you, probably a dumb question as I cannot see any pictures at work to confirm.

Shelldrake asked if you have a 2T-G which is a 2T with Twin Overhead Cams. Your reply is "Yeah, 2T with high compression pistons, oversized valves, double springs, crank balanced, ported."

Now you are concerned about changing heads? And refer to..." was trying to utilise the mods, not abandon them".

If indeed you do have a 2T-G, then all above information becomes void. You have the option of putting on any 2T-G/3T-G EFI manifold, or bolting on the dual twin throat throttle bodies directly to the OEM manifold.

As for the debate of sidedraughts v EFI for power. This one is a long running debate and is more involved than you imply.

    So 2T or 2T-G?

    Regards

    Rodger

you can also modify the 2TGEU inlet manifold to fit on the 2T head
i did it some time ago (welded ears onto the inlet manifold to match the bolt pattern as the ports line up fine)

    Ok

A 2T can be made to run easily and well on twin sidedraughts but wont be "different". With your mods, which are like mine, 75-85rwkW is around what you'll get, EFI or Carbs.
