Default Strange blacktop 4AGE ECU pinout

    Gday,

I'm working on wiring up an ECU to a blacktop 4AGE. The ECU part number is 89661-1A190 (26 - 16 - 12 pin). Some sources claim this is a blacktop ECU, others a silvertop.

Cracking it open there are a few strange pin codes on the PCB. The ones we are unsure about (have no idea what the pins are) are:
    - EAF
    - TM
    - ELS
    - VCC - Though I assume this is VC, 5V supply to the MAP sensor and TPS.

Now there are a few other pins whose meanings we can work out, but seem a little strange that they are used in this ECU, namely:
    - VS - AFM signal
    - IDL - TPS idle signal. On the loom which came with the engine this pin in the TPS plug was blanked out.

Does anyone have any experience with this ECU and can confirm whether it in fact suits silver or black top. And also give some advice on what the mystery pins do?

    Thanks
    Hen
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

Yeah, we've had a fair search around and basically come to the conclusion that what we have here is in fact a silvertop ECU. Which is highly rude. However there are still a few pins whose meaning is still mysterious.

I assume this is J's ECU?

I thought it was an AE111 ECU (thats what it searches out too: http://www.romut-radalle.com/toyecu.php), which I thought was blacktop - I'm happy to stand corrected, if it's not?

Edit: and another search lists it as AE101 (according to JDM EPC)?!?

Yep, Jez's. There's one internet site which lists it as blacktop, and a few which list it as silvertop. But it's the VS pin, and to some extent the IDL pin which make me fairly sure it's silver.

    Hi Hen

What amount of trouble has the great Jez gotten you into this time

My jap EPC says your part is indeed a silvertop one

And strangely enough, the blacktop ecu dropped the need for IDL. But the manual still tells you to set it?!?

You are looking for PIM if it's labelled on the board. When I opened my one it didn't have any pin identification, yes I have one, no you can't have it, but if you want I can get another one out of japan for you because work doesn't have any. I've seen two ecus, and they were both in halfcuts.

Jez: I'll swap you my blacktop ecu and silvertop motor for your silvertop ecu and blacktop motor

    Goodluck!
The spanner in my avatar is actually a 16mm, that's why it's still new

I do have the best silvertop ECU apparently. Cmon it will match your engine and your ECU (soon to be mine) will match my engine!

ELS probably an optional electrical load switch you can use for headlights/defogger etc.

BT ecu = PIM(vacuum sensor), FC(fuel pump OCR)
    ST ecu = VS(AFM)

Strangely this ECU has both a VS and FC pin (and that's reading directly off the PCB).
