It could be any one of the above, you've got no way of knowing without a physical inspection. It's certainly not a common problem with JZ engines though.
Hey People its been a while, i am currently looking at buying a jza80 with a 2jzgtte in it the owner said his local mechanic has checked it out and doesnt have any compression in number six, is this a problem any one has seen before, the problem is the car is in sydney and i am in perth any one that has seen this problem let us know
at the end of the day for no compression your cooling at what
lifters jamming holding the valve open,
hole in the piston, bent valve but since a 2jz is a non interference motor i cant really see it
burnt valve,
it has nil comp so you wont be looking at rings
let us know if any ideas
or a blown head gasket
cheers in advance

Loose valve seat. Happened to me on my L/Cruiser.
if a 2j pops its "generally" due to 1 of 3 things
1 poorly looked after
2 badly tuned
3 its had the arse thrashed out of it
unless its got some expensive gear on it and your getting a bargain then i wouldn't bother as it may cost you more than modding a stocker to have it fixed "properly", but its up to you
cheers
