this was a great day out.

thanx heaps to garth and all that made it happen.

mos' IS did a 1:14 but with abit more setup and with some sorting of the cooling system would have an easy 1:12 in it (just need to put it all together in one lap) needs an LSD too. BTW it was 2 up with the AC cranked

draven's A80 did a 1:13 but could easily go down to a 1:10 once he comes to grips with it,
felt weird coming across the line at over 200kph and looking at turn 2 going " fuck is this thing gonna pull up" but it did it every time and very well. going to be scary when we turn the boost back up from 10psi.

can't wait for the next one, will definately be there.

    cheers

i own 1 but i lent it to zze92 so he should have some footage of his car.

draven borrowed ed's camera but im not sure if it actually ended up in the car, should have set it up with a shot of the speedo as well as a forward view. the rate of acceleration out of that thing is just stupid, me likey.

I had it set up but only ended up recording for one session (and as it would turn out the settings were a bit messed up - anyone know how to flip a video file upside down? ) Was also the session BEFORE I got my tyre pressures sorted so lines were all over the place within 1 or two laps

Had done less than 3000 kms in the car since last Wakefield day I went to a year ago, so I didn't feel very familiar with the car to start with but once I got the pressures to a level I felt comfortable with I started to have a ball! New track surface is awesome and doesn't seem anywhere near as harsh on tyres as the old one. Staying out for around 30-40 odd laps while most others were off having lunch would be testament to that. I remember looking around at one point and the only other car on the circuit was Dylan's AW11

Anyway, thanks again to Garth for getting us all in on this, can't possibly recomend it highly enough and it was great to see a good showing of Toyota force out there.. Thanks also to Linden for the late night work getting me prepared on Thursday, and to everyone I bummed a ride with as well. See you all at the next one hopefully
    Cheers,
    Paul.

Big thumbs up to Garth for a top day, my face still looks like this . Sorry yours went to shit with the split radiator hose though

Was fun to clock 200kph down the straight and have to stab the brakes quickly before the kink (somehow panelvans on leaf springs don't handle that kink as well as a Supra )

I'll get some footage up on youtube shortly. Got a good one down the straight behind Draven's supra

Big thank you Garth also from me.

Hot day but totally enjoyed it and was even able to drive the Celica home with confidence, not like last time.

I keep surprising myself as to how well it handles. The track temp was high enough to actually build up some pick up and wear on my twenty year old tyres. Still didn't have any grip but only speared off the end of the back straight trying to make the Supra work a bit to get under me, I should not have bothered.

Had a great duel with the stock red Escort for a few laps.

Compared to all your forced induction beasts I was only getting to 90mph at the kink and 80mph on the back straight.

Thanks to Phil for a ride in the wagon.

Apart from the lack of bumps how did you all find the track surface? I think I had more grip but again for my tyres that is hard to tell. Certainly souded like there was more grip as all the comp tryes were howling more.

A day in mid winter is now called for and do I spend up on a set of Yokies?

    Regards

    Rodger

great day thanks a bunch garth very relaxed and pleanty of laptime out there with little traffic much better than other track days out there

ive been out to wakie a couple of times with the new surface and a bunch on the old and its definatley more grippy and less bumpy i reckon about 1-2 seconds faster closer to 2 seconds for the cars with more hp

i destroyed my front left tyre and my wheel alignment and possibly warped the brakes but it was worth it

fantastic day as always, thanks to Garth for making it all possible Great to catch up with everyone aswell

Cooked all my brakes but I was expecting it to be honest so I'm not too fussed. Car drove home at the end of the day with no problems. I think I've got a good game plan now for what needs to be done to the car in order to be able to take real advantage of the power that it now has

Had an awesome day and now have the saybars all set up nicely and minimised the understeer, and can also now control the snap oversteer when it happens

I was having battery issues with my camera through the day so didn't get as much footage as I would have liked, plus one of the SD cards I bought is a dud so that was 2GB wasted. The old 1GB card I had in Scott's MR2 also didn't show the picture, so I'll have to take a look at the camera and see just what was going on there.

I did manage to get 1 full session filmed though, which was my longest session just before lunch where I had over 30 minutes on track and included a spin a a few opposite lock moments.

I'll do some editing at some point and get them up.

I also got some pics of most people's cars in the morning and will get the best of them up on Photobucket sometime this weekend as well.

Cheers to Mos and Linden for sticking around last night for pizza as well, was great night and much shit was spoken cheers also to Stitty for stopping my, and thanks for the ride in the luxobarge, I love it man
