It's all pretty easy if you have RA40 bits, plug and play. You may need to embiggen the hole in the transmission tunnel but that's not hard.

i think maurice-c has a write up somewhere on what they did when converting an auto to manual. you would need to hunt around a little bit for said thread, i don't remember what it was called.
The gearshifter hole was indeed a different spot as norbie eludes to but would still poke through the existing hole, it is just closer to the rear of the hole.
If i was doing it, i would go to the wreckers and look for a manual version and grab everything off of it relating to the manual and simply swap it all over.

last night we took every thing we needed to take off today we will be putting the manual box in and put every thing back together and either tonight or during the week we will do the peddle box ps thanks to barned01, Norbie,for there help and a big thanks to maurice-c for all the info bout changing it
anothe rupdate almost finshed car is finally off the stands every thing is back together besides peddle box, for any on else who does this i had to cut the floor 2mm for the gear shofter to work right
we have got the car running but still no peddlebox my dads gonna wait to the weekend
just wanted to tell every one that the car is now finished and up and running the hardest part is the pedlle box
