ive got a factory workshop manual at home from another motor with same tubes, i remember reading something about pressing them in, ill see if it mentions getting them out tonight.
I have a 2VZFE Head that is missing a spark plug tube.
For those who do not know that is the metal tube between the cylinder head and the rocker cover that keeps the oila way from the plug and leads and inside.
I need to get one out or get a new one.
We tried putting a 17MM socket inside and squeezing a vice grip on but the tube wont budge.
Today the engineer is going to try to heat the head and cool the tube and hope it comes out.
It cant be pressed it has to be grabbed.
I need to get one but I dont want to saw a head in half to do it.
Any ideas?

Just a random idea here, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are fitted in a similar way to valve guides.
ie the head is put into a hot tub and then the guides are easily fitted/removed.

With the 3S-FE, the tube is screwed into the head of course and your method would have got it out by now. Looking at the EPC for the 2VZ-FE, the tube is not ment to be seperate from the head. You can not order a seperate tube!!!! Bad luck. It looks like the tube is ment to be stuck there good.
But if you already have a tube off, surely you can see if its ment to be threaded or pressed.
As mentioned in my PM to you Steve, the tube is pressed in. It is extracted with a tube extractor, sorta like a pulley puller, but just inverse. The head MUST be heated to remove and install, or else it will not budge.
Regards.
Kind Regards,
Kurt.
