Are you getting 'teh mad flutterz' now? VL style?
I've just installed a hi-flowed CT-26 on my 7M so i'm interested in thread too.
Gday,
Ive just (last night) finished off my latest round of upgrades on the mx73, the usual 550s, 1uz afm and highflow turbo with safc.
Driving it around on stock boost, i can definately hear the pod more now and when coming off throttle there isnt the normal smooth release of pressure from the 7m's bov, theres a sound that reminds me of a tard humping a piece of cardboard.
Mux who helped me with teh install of the parts believes its becaue the 7m bov cant handle the volume of air the new turbo is producing thus some air is trapped when the bov shuts and causes the humping cardboard sound. This i would assume is air hitting the impeller blades of the turbo and potientally harming the turbo itself.
Should I just go and buy another (ebay) bigger bov? or is there another option available.

It sounds like the BOV isn't working at all. Are you sure it's hooked up right?

its installed to how it was previously, using the handy 7m heat hardened rubber piping, it could only go back one way.
Am i correct in saying theres no EASY way to test the bovs operation?

My 7MGTE BOV failed on me not long after i bumped up the boost to 10psi. I just got crazy mad VLstylez flutter. Bought a new secondhand bov and that one works. You could try and buy one of those... dammit what brand are they?.... from some European car and you can buy them from Bursons and the like for $50-60 bucks.

New bov is on, fitted it to stock piping which was an added bonus and after driving it around its definately not leaking any boost which is fabulous!
Boost comes on VERY strong now at 3000rpm with spool starting around 2000 +ve pressure at around 2500 rather than a slow build up due to the leaky bov. This also enables a much more stable boost curve and i had to remap my EBC to compensate. Let this be a lesson to all you 7mgte owners, replace the bov they suck!
