Default 2JZGE in a manual JZA80 STOCK power figures??

    Hey guys,

Me and my friends have searched high and low and are struggling to find a definitive answer on the stock rwkw power output of an NA 2J JZA80. I'm predicting around the 120rwkw mark but any specific dyno sheets would be great.

I hear about 135rwkw with intake and exhaust?

I've checked the dyno thread and no one has a bone stock NA 2JZ listed so any confirmation would really be appreciated. Cheers

I think you're about on the money, it'd be somewhere around the 120-130rwkw mark depending on condition and dyno. Why do you want to know?

Head over to supraforums.com.au, plenty of NA guys there and they're all obsessed with dyno figures so you'll soon get an idea of what sort of power to expect.

I was using google, found a couple posts on supraforums but nothing definitive for a dead stock. I'll keep searching tonight, cheers guys.

Does it really matter? It's slow, regardless of whether it makes 120 or 140...

MA61 is significantly lighter than a jza80 though...

And as Norbie normally says(surprised he hasn't already) dyno figures are easily fudged. MPH over the quarter is a better indication of power levels.

I'll tell you MPH soon. It's pokey, but not fast. It probably weighs around 150kg more than my XX.

    Nathan

It is way heavier than a xx mate, Ive also got a mint xx buy the way, with a very rare mteu engine. Its silver and you might have seen it on celicasupra.com?

    ma61/ga61/(ma63,mine) =1280kgs approx
    jza80 = 1600kgs approx.

    Robert

    Good for conversion to mk2!
Very slow performance for a mk4, Expect 16second+ quarter miles

Reminds me of that guy with NA Supra mk4 on High Octane 2 video! His one did a 16.8 over the quarter mile.

(But he did have a nos kit on top of that to use if its slow)

I've got those high octane videos, might have to go back and watch them

And yes 2JZ in an MA61 = win and wcarlson has a really nice example of one done properly Would sound amazing with some ITB's

Hehe, not *that* rare. I've had a part in binning a couple of them.

Dude. The JZA80 is no way near as heavy as you think. There is so much alloy in it it's not funny. A TT JZA80 with a smidge of fuel weighs ~1500kg and the NA version is probably around 50kg lighter without the bigger diff, the 6-speed and the 2JZGE.

That's a bit slow even for an NA. 15's are definetly doable from a decently launched NA.

Yeah mate! Its a good video that Octane2. I remember when it came out a few years ago now. Ive met the guy on it, Ketzal Sterling that produced the videos at a auto salon a couple of years ago. Nice fella that guy.

You will also be able to see how much the turbo version eats it up over the quarter as they compare both of them.

    lol, Ketz on the video.....

I bet they where not mint like my one though or had factory water to air intercooler! Because theres only a few that where ever made with the intercooler in 84.
Have you seen my car? I love mk2s had about five in the past.

Mate, I have a catalogue for the mk4 right here in front of me it says....

Kerb weight (kg) = manual 1620 Auto 1580. They are that weight. (NA version will be a bit lighter yes) but not very much maybe around 1550kgs.

    Maybe high 15s?
