A silent killer?
Usually people are obsessed with release/throwout bearing noise, but it's the quiet ones that I've seen the most damage from.
Thanks for the pics.
well i finally got around to pulling the clutch out of my 23 today no wonder it went bang trying to put it on the trailer
the thrust bearing had chewed its way through the fingers on the pressure plate
until it said , NO MORE ,one of the fingers had disapeared altogether
still i cant complain it had been in there for 4 years
2 winton six hour races 3 rob roy hillclimbs 2 sandowns 4 winton sprints and 1 morewell hillclimb
in these shots you can see how far into the clutch pressure plate the thrust bearing has chewed
hopfully it will be back together for the winton fun day

hi allencr
it did make a little noise , i knew that it was on the way out
but normaly you get more warning as when i went to put it on the trailer it went bang and stopped one of the fingers fell out and jammed against the bell housing
no damage anywhere else
