I picked up a steering rack off a mz20 to replace mine and after looking closely have noticed that theres a slight difference in the 2 racks.
On my gz20 the part of the rack which the power steering lines feed into has what looks like a solenoid (with plug on the end) facing out towards the passenger side of the car (looking from under bonnet)
But compared to the mz20 rack the solenoid sits on the other side facing towards the front of the car
The connection is the same on both racks
Also the two fluid lines that run from that section to the middle of the rack sit at the back of the mz20 rack but on the gz20 rack there connected to the front. but the bigger lines that come from the pump look like there in the right place on both.
im going to try and compare them both best as possible tommorow when i have time to jack up the car and sit them together. Both racks seem to be the same apart from the solenoid and some of the lines being in slightly different locations
Im just wondering if anyone has had any experience with both racks and if the mz20 one will fit in the gz20, would save me alot of trouble if anyone has any info. ive been told the mz20 rack is the same as the late 80's supra aswell.

Toyota probably just reworked the position of the lines/solenoid part way through the cars run.
They do it all the time.
