Do you happen to have any positive thoughts as to how YOU could improve the show so your supra is not too lame?? I'm sure the organisers would love to know them.

Or are you saying you are happy with the show, and it shouldn't change, and want to enter next year with a hired yaris??

how many 'organisers' were displaying their own cars again this year?

maybe they should dedicate 100% of their time to just organising or something?

btw i would rather see a yaris than a supra where the owner is too shy to open the bonnet coz all he has is rice.

this says to all other contestants, rock up in a stocker, go in every event possible and you will win

there must be some serious bias with the way things are scored! as in some insignificant things must affect your score

also losing points for not having a first aid kit or a fire extinguisher is BS

From what I understand, the idea of the toyochamp award was placing it so as a show pony trailer queen couldn't take it out. There is no bias in it. It only requires you to be involved in the Cruise, Dyno, Sound off and Show events, the idea being that a true enthusiast would want to drive their car, and not just spend mega buck on someone just to show it off at the show and shine never to see the light of day otherwise. They may take out the show and shine (look at the fact that the corolla didn't take out any other awards), but toychamp is won by the highest scoring show n shine participant that also appeared at the other events.

The judging has been done by the Street Machine association, so there is no bias there. And WHY would they want to bias something towards someone that has nothing to do with the organisation of the event anyways? Are you suggesting they just randomly chose a car, and then bias towards that??

As for your comments on safety features such as a first aid kit / fire extinguisher, I can't comment on those.

I'm certain that the camry wasn't the best car there. I've found some photos in the following locations:

I see that the organisers have setup a forum dedicated to toyoshow.

    http://forum.toyoshow.com/

I'd suggest that if you are unhappy with the current running of the show, and want a better show, then hop on there and make your ideas known. If you are happy with thinking that a hired yaris is a better car to win a car show, then do nothing, and nothing will change. It's a show for you, so do something constructive about it to evolve the show into what the people want to see. I know for a fact that some of the organisers don't have toymods accounts, so posting comments on here has no effect unless someone else happens to pass your thoughts on, to which you will not nessicarily see any discussion on.

Just wondering what sort of Toyota this is? I suppose the engine is out of a Toyota Lexcen so that's why it's there??

some people dont have the time or inclination to organise someone elses events.

they have jobs, cars to work on, and better car shows to look foward too.

just had a look at the forum & lolled

if people refuse to take critisism from anywhere but their own forums then that is just stupid and this show will get worse and worse.

if i hate macdonalds im not going to walk into their head office and ask to chat to the gm.

its up to them to find out what is wrong with their own business and change it.

a lack of criticism in your own office does not mean everytihng is perfect.

do you agree that there are problems with this car show? coz you kind of sound like you are defending it and its a really top show with well thought out decisions regarding who should win.

I officially retract my comments about maybe entering this event. Looking through those photo's was laughable, i mean a corolla with a spray painted black bonnet??!?!?, a stock standard 4x4 on show etc......what a joke.

This event fails, just like the organisers 7M.

Err, so even helping an event is out of the question? wow, after all the work we do you wont even try help by posting your thoughts and suggestions? you'd rather just make some ill-informed comments?

they have jobs, cars to work on, and better car shows to look foward too.
All the people that put the show on work full time, the show is NOT FOR PROFIT.

just had a look at the forum & lolled
? I'm reading your comments and lolling.

if people refuse to take critisism from anywhere but their own forums then that is just stupid and this show will get worse and worse.
Some people have a look at the forum and still dont leave comments! I'm not about to go 'chase down' comments on every forum. We asked people to leave comments on the site so that the people required see them, and then can act on them.

if i hate macdonalds im not going to walk into their head office and ask to chat to the gm.
But would you fill in a feedback forum? or would you go back to McDonalds again?

its up to them to find out what is wrong with their own business and change it.
Thanks to other entrants we have seen issues with our show, and we are taking action to rectify those issues.

a lack of criticism in your own office does not mean everything is perfect.
Nothing is perfect, and we acknowledge that we need to change/improve the show, however, without knowing how or what to improve and fix it's awfully tricky. Please provide us with feedback.

do you agree that there are problems with this car show? coz you kind of sound like you are defending it and its a really top show with well thought out decisions regarding who should win.
The only thing we could defend is trying to get people to post comments/suggestions and bitching on our forums. Some of the toymods people have infact attended our meetings, I dare say they are satisfied that we are trying to improve the show.

I officially retract my comments about maybe entering this event. Looking through those photo's was laughable, i mean a corolla with a spray painted black bonnet??!?!?, a stock standard 4x4 on show etc......what a joke.
I'm not sure what you'd like me to do about the cars that wish to enter, perhaps tell them they dont have enough bling? What car do you have?

This event fails, just like the organisers 7M.
However, I put a lot of time in to this show and organising it. I'm more than happy to hear suggestions for improvement, however I'd say your just a keyboard warrior - I live in the real world.

Oh yes, and the judging will be changed for next year, the categories will be changed and we will be trying to get a more enthusiast feel. We know that some of the cars there arent show cars, but we arent trying to compete with AutoSalon or Extreme Horsepower.

If you genuinely want to help, please post at toyoshow.com - if you want to sook, post here.
