[SA] Public Rally for new motorsport complex

If you live in Adelaide and you love your motor sport then mark down March 10th 2008 at 12pm as a day to go and support it.

There is a planned gathering of 150 businesses and various drivers and there machines at the Port Dock Brewery to discuss the building of a New Motorsport Park on Torrens Island.
Members from the Enfield Council (Port Adelaide and Surrounding districts) and SA state Government officials will be lobbied and if the powers all agree we could see the Torrens Island site near the North Arm power boat club developed into a Motorsport Entertainment area.

The area proposed is currently 17kms from any housing areas and could comprise of a mix of motorsports including;

Power boat curcuit racing , Boat drag racing , Jet boat curcuit , Car Drag strip , Car & Bike race curcuit and a possible upgrade to the North arm speedway curcuit facility.

I have been told this info from three different sources ; Adelaide based car clubs and Drag racing competitors.
I will post more info as I hear it , hopefully it isn't another cruel rumour like the reopening of Adelaide International Raceway

Hi Everyone, just popping in to let everyone know this is going to be HUGE! We currently have 40-50 race vehicles, Zipple is running a cruise as well as a number of other clubs. There could be anywhere between 500 to over a thousand cars attending so if you could all let everyone know, especially the other import clubs, it would be really appreciated. This is for everyone and we hope as many can be there as possible. We have organized special parking for all participating in clubs. This could very well turn out to be one of the biggest events ever seen. Lots of MP's, VIP's etc. will be present so everyone be on your best behavior. This is as close as we have ever been and we cant afford to mess it up. Be a part of history and lets show SA why we need this facility. All horsepower is good horsepower! Thanks and see ya there
