lol only just saw this thread, yeah i compiled that txt document.
im sure there would be a shiteload of happy owners if the JZA70 came with the torsen as standard... but unfortunately only some models did aka the limited, limited aerotop and the R.... the rest the torsen was optional.
build plates rarely lie on such stock cars.![]()
There is a simple way to check that your diff is a torsen.
Jack up the rear end.
With the hand brake off (or course), spin one wheel and the other should go in the opposite direction, just like an open wheeler.
Get someone to lightly hold one wheel and you turn the other.
It should be very difficult for you to turn the wheel even if your friend is holding with very little strength. This is the torque multiplication effect and indicates a torsen.
Or you could do it the way i did and lie under the diff with one toe on one wheel and turn the other with your hands.![]()
If it was a clutch pack style LSD then in the first instance, both wheels will turn in the same direction (assuming the box is in neutral).
