brett, stupid question here, but does the mass of your car and spring rate mean that you need helpers? i had planned to use helper springs on mine, and in the end i didnt need them at all.
Does that include the metal rings that go between the keeper springs and the normal springs?
If not what happens there?

No, they are designed so that with shocks at full droop it keeps the larger spring captive. This is more apparent with coilovers that can be adjusted which can mean that at full height the spring is too short and the use of a larger spring would reduce the lowest setting available in terms of height. Also at full droop ie jacking the car up, going over bumps, the spring is held tight the whole time.

i might grab a pair for the hell of it!
Good work Brett!
...... butt scratcher?!
i know what adjustable coilovers are bro, thats what i'm talking about. it all comes down to car weigh, ride height, spring rate and shock droop.
also, if in doubt about getting 65 or 63mm ID, go for 65, as it will fit on 63mm perches no problem, 63mm springs will fit on 65mm perches ut you need to chuck them in the lathe to make them 63mm, and not 65.
Its not really about weight or shock settings. As they compress enough to bind when the car comes down on them so it is effectively only the larger spring holding the car up. The keeper springs end up being a 'spacer'.

look, all i'm saying is that you dont automatically need helper springs with adjustable coilovers, if your springs arent captive at full droop, then you need them. if they are then you dont need them!
if you use a dampener with a short stroke then im sure you could get away without them. it wouldnt be too hard to work that out if you you have car-corner weight, free spring length, dampener stroke length and relative ride height
i dare say i wont get a response until the new year but ill try contact them again then.
hello
This is true, i have a set of coilovers that do not run helper springs. But, they are extremely short stroke - probably 6 inches total travel.Originally Posted by shinybluesteel
So back to my original question. Do the springs come with the spacer thingys? or will these need to be sought elsewhere?

you can buy the helper to coilover spring spacers from importbitz for about $15 each from memory
Count me in also
reviving this thread...
prices are completely stupid in aus so im going to ring this US place tomorow.
the only problem is that my spring seats are 65mm diameter and these springs are 63.5. ill ask them when i ring if they do a 65mm spring but i would doubt it.
im thinking i could get away with running a 65mm main spring and a 63.5mm helper spring. it would involve machining the top hat down to 63.5mm which is 5mins work.
so tomorow i will get sizes and final prices
hello
Im interrested in this !!!!!!!
