I have a stock standard 2T-G efi engine in my car with 40 dellorto's and extractors. I rev that regularly to 7500-8000 rpm on the track. on the odd occasion i get a small amout of valve bounce and have had the cam chain touch the cam cover in the middle at some point too.

a 2TG/3T hybrid needs the following so it can rev:
Cams... lumpier you go, the higher you rev
Balancing... a must for any high revving engine, find a good machinist though!!
valve springs... get the softest ones which will do the job... they will still need to be hard as a rock though!! Tripple valve springs help to dampen the bouncing too by reducing the effects of harmonics in the main spring
Headers... tuned length headers will make a big difference in the top end
    Compression... 12.5:1 is your friend
Head to block mating... both surfaces should be decked, then linished to produce a mirror surface. You should also o-ring the block and head, and use a copper head gasket (dont use a copper item if you dont o-ring) as well as ARP head studs
Flywheel/clutch... the lighter the better. Multiplate clutches can have smaller diameters and therefore less rotating inertia, and more revs.

Oh, and if you really want to make it rev, dont forget to re-mortgage the house... cause it will cost you a bundle!!

When you think about the work involved in fully prepping an engine, US$9000 starts becoming cheap for a 152e!!!

Depends how accurate your machining and assembly is. These things can be made to rev past 10,000... if you want more capacity without affecting the revs much, bore it out, and keep the 2TG block, as stroking and revving dont like each other (F1 motors are a prime example... 14mm stroke )

    Its unfair to compare a 151E to a 4AGE.
Like comparing the current cossie FA to a lotus twincam

No, its unfair to the 4A, as it had to deal with emmissions, where the 151e didnt. The 151e was well ahead of its time, and it showed in the number of races it was used to win. In saying that, I think you will have a hard time getting one registered if they ever ask for an emmissions test... last time I heard of a 152e being registered, it was severely de-tuned and ran two inline cat converters.

Oman what i mean is comapreing a 151 to a 4A is unfair in the essence that the only time you would be using a 151 is if you wanted to qualify for a specific calls or historic spec.
The cost vs perfomance is dispropotionate
