On a side note, your IS300 has a torsen? What's your address and when will everyone be out next?![]()
But JZA80 "A" the same as G? That's the million dollar question....

dunno... because I'd love to know what the "c" and "d" codes mean with toyota's weird new diff codes.
The IS is not for parting out. if it gets crashed, the diff becomes a spare for my JZA80![]()
OK, well the A01C was a JZX90 Tourer V Mark2 with an automatic transmissionOriginally Posted by Draven
The A02D was a JZX90 Mark2 Tourer V with a manual transmission
If the Supra site is right, then an A spec diff is an 8in same as the JZX90 diffs Ive played with and therefore the G series parts should fit.
As with a lot of things though, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting... So go taste your diff
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me then a frontal lobotomy
how about no?![]()
Alrighty, I'm back home and have checked it, A01A as I suspected.

Perhaps C is the Torsen II diffs? That's clutching at straws, because Greg's car should be new enough to have a Torsen II.

Also just to add further confusion, the number codes for the ratio's are different between models that use the same diff
eg, an A01A in a Supra is a different ratio to an A01A in a Soarer, even though they are otherwise the same
And I'd bet my left nut the both of those are different to the A01A in the GXE10 (not necessarily ratio, but definitely crown size)

theres some pics (hard to find) on sf.au showing a guy trying to squeeze a G ring on an A centre (or vice versa) and the shoulder mounting sizes/hub carrier size is not compatible, despite it being damn close.
exactly which A series that was i dont know
there is SO MUCH unreliable data on this it make a confusing issue even more unbarable

Another spanner here.
Dads old '98 Prado had an A01A diff stamped on the wall, but it also had an LSD OIL ONLY sticker on the rear diff. I also doubt a 2+ tonne Prado would run a 7.5" diff.

Any ideas what the thread was called? I'm looking now.

safest to assume that toyota made no 2 a-series diffs alike?![]()
