i did some slow figure 8's with my 2 lsd's (mx83), just to work the clutchpacks a bit and get oil through then, and just 'get things moving'. first one was just a stock grande jobbie, so it was sorta pointless - that was more ZOMG LSD LETS BREAK IT IN!!!! over the old single spinner. (although, it didn't have oil in it when i bought it, so there was maybe some merit in that)
a TRD2way with 4.1 gears out of a chaser popped up, so i bought the whole chaser cradle (incl brakes, fancy diff, different looking axles, and non-rooted diff mounts) and had the whole lot swapped in.
initially it drove like a locker, but then after a few mins of slow figure 8's in a reasonable sized cul-de-sac it seemed to settle down a bit. Now it's pretty sedate if you're just idling along slowly while turning (auto w/ 3krpm stallie) but if you accelerate even just a little bit the inside wheel skips.
give it a bit more and it does rear-steppy-outy-things very easily!
can't really speak in regards to a brand spankers one, but i'd presume dropping (even just to inspect) the oil after a short interval wouldn't hurt, since when it's 'breaking in' i'd expect material would find it's way into the oil
edit: did you end up getting rid of your cressida shell by that saturday?![]()
