engine upgrades what is max?

Mine is similar with a w57 gearbox 4agte borg warner diff

comes up at WSID 1010kgs.

BTW if you could legally fit a 1jz into one id have one already. Let alone fitting one in without firewall mods.

check code of practice - light motor vehicles for your state.
i have the qld version and it states what weight they declare for
a particular vehicle. thats the weight you do your calculations on.

its all on the rta website, it lists all the cars and there weights
you just need to search!

haha i got a 1g in mine so i guess ill say that, but otherwise i would say sr20det for cheap and easy to fit... its only a corolla so who cares what motor goes in it

sr20's are noisy and rattle heaps.

The biggest cause of this is a history of overreving... An SR20 that been treated well isn't noisy and doesn't ratttle...

Also, taking the engine revs past 7000rpm on an SR20 will sometimes lead the tappet side of the rocker arm fulcrum to jump, and the rocker arm to come off!

Thanks every one i have been doing a lot of research and will soon come to a conclusion just finding out more info of my enginer and she will be started after new years. thanks again everyone and will keep you updated with engine upgrade and conversion
