    Default R154 Twin Plate...

Okay, so ive been told i need to use a input shaft to line up my twin plate, but is there another way to do it which isnt impossible or is it just the one

I dont have another spline and i reaallllly wanna do it now. haha

Is there an alignment tool with splines?
Anyone got a spare spline? lol

W58 spline is the same if you can find a blown 1.

you can buy a little plastic tool for just that purpose, it's called a clutch alignment tool funnily enough. would'nt be more than 5-10 bucks.

Yeh but its a twin plate, so you need to aling the splines aswell as the clutch plates...

Ive got a w58 but its a good box and i dont particularly want to pull it apart...

So r154 and w58 are same, what about w50 and 55?

wait. the post said about r154 tho
with the r154 it has little viewing windows. so u can slide the pressure and clutch plates on, and bolt them together later.
    but the w58 doesnt.
therefore a shaft sorta thing is needed.
a mate of mine who owns a machining shop just made one based off the old clutch plate and spigot bearing. may be the easiest option

Smokey... it's possible to do it by hand. use a bit of thick wire/allan key type thing, and get it centred by eye.

you can half tighten the pressure plate bolts and put the gearbox on the engine. once its lined up, tighten PP bolts.

Cheers guys, i got a w58 input shaft and used it to line up the clutch plates. Than slid the box on tonight. I ordered new flywheel bolts today, but put the motor and box together to try and dummy fit it into the car so i could massage the tunnel away...

But dammit, i couldnt get it into the car in my bloody low garage! Not unless i remove all the un-needed p/steer and a/c shit...

    Cheers,
    Jase
