Agree with Ed, it depends on preference and what the end use of the car will be. I'll be triangulating mine due to not being a DD, and will be doing a reasonable amount of cct work.Originally Posted by ed_ma61

that t3 one isnt bad at all...but keep it all in perspective - how much of a difference are you trying to make here, and how much benefit will you *actually* realise...
good in theory, good on race cars, good for you??

Now 5sp, 5 stud,17x8" Ray's, big assed brakes and decent IC
Better turbo in the wings as well as MAFT !!!!
I'm doing it because I'm a closet riceboy.

I posted it because I thought it would be of interest to those looking at a 3-peice design. I'm sure a single piece will be fine for me.
The T3 3-bar front braces look very nice. I emailed Gabe about whether they can offer them for xA6xs - my current homemade front one (just like Ed's rear bar, mounted on big thick steel strut plates) won't clear the 1G.
It will be interesting to see what he comes up with and at whaty price.Originally Posted by Stefan

I like your design baaachy, much better than mine. I've finally installed my struts and steering arms so i should be able to start relatively soon on this project. I'll start out with just the single bar, joining the latch points, then look at triangulating it.
Stefan, also interested in what T3 can make in the way of a 3-point front bar. I'll pop into that place in town that does car stuff (the name eludes me at this moment) and ask them how much for a 3-point brace. They quoted me once when i was in there with brett but i forgot the price.
I assume that the price will be the same as the AE86 one listed on the site. Will keep you posted.Originally Posted by bbaacchhyy

Your dam right they charge alot for labour. They want $400 for a 3-point brace! Yikes i thought. -- Oh yeh Autocraft...
If i get some time tommorow morning i will be buying a length of tubing from Premier Steel, for the rear bar. They only want $8.60, i thought thats not too shabby at all.
EDIT: Baaachy, those bolts i drew the lines to are the bolts for the xmember for the diff.

Here's another bar design for you. Very simple - bar of solid alum machined to length.

Personally, I don't like it as much as one like Ed's.
Finished off making a rear strut bar. Just didn't get to put it in the car before the rains startedIts just the same as the TSC one. Cost $8.60 for the length of steel. Then all i did was crushed the ends, drilled some holes and walla! I'll take some pics of it mounted when the rains stop.
Sorry, 2 months later and i finally remember to post the picture up.
I couldn't notice any differance with it installed. I don't know if this is becuase of the dodgy way i made it or becuase my bushes are really shagged or becuase the rear end of the car has been written off before and repaired. But i couldn't notice a differance and the only reason it stays there is becuase i can't be bothered to take it off.
