... search username Xoom and see his 2ZZ-GTE build
but I guess that's more specific for that engine though as the exhaust headers are on the back of the engine towards the firewall

 Stealth Turbo
				hi
Is it possible to hide a turbo(s) successfully to the point of only being able to see them from beneath, thus greatly reducing the chance of police finding them? also is there a way to silence them or reduce generic turbo noise? (P Plater lol)
thanx

 Re: Stealth Turbo
echo with a turbo, good luck finding that hiding down there.
if you have a freeflow/straight thru exhaust or a pod then you will hear it no matter what you do.
but if it was all well thought out yes you could get the noise down but only with small amounts of boost ie below 5psi.
cheers

if you have an sv21 like what your profile says, then good luck trying to hide it. you'd see that so easily the minute you lift the bonnet.

 Re: Stealth Turbo
i saw a car in zoom a while back with it mounted under the car.
just bash the floor pan under the seat up and shuv it in there. Im guessing it wont be too big?
have to get a plumb back bov to reduce noise.

 Re: Stealth Turbo
Last time I got pulled over (P plater driving an R33) the coppers went looking under the car.
If you get caught with something like this, you will have your licence removed straight away.
Secondly: You're classed as driving an unregd, uninsured vehicle, there's a few more thousand dollar fines.
Don't be a knob, just wait your time.
It means everyone else is 100 times safer, and will be better off financially.
Oh, and before you say "I won't crash it" a mate of mine has crunched his turbo car twice since owning it, since he wasn't used to how a turbo drove. He's also been off his P's for a few years now.
Secondly. Change the exhaust. It's illegal.
Change the air filter to a pod. It's illegal.
You'll be reamed something shocking.
Plumb backs are still quite noticeable especially if you run a pod, I run a stock turbo on my R33 and it can be heard just driving normally.
Also, how do you plan to hide the FMIC or SMIC?
Piping going everywhere?
Lastly, half the highway patrol I've come across, used to be mechanics, the other half are just twits.

Yes, sorry, for P-platers in NSW, not everyone

 Re: Stealth Turbo
Yep, I side with Kyosho, sure you can put a turbo on, but if you get caught, bam, massive fines and loss of licence (rules are real harsh)
Next is, as you start to move the turbo further down the exhaust you are losing heat and therefore the turbo gets less 'drive'...
Keep what you have for the moment, keep improving technique on lower powered vehicles, then work your way up.
