ok i just after some help with the old putting aircon in to the ra23, i have a ra40 aircon setup, and my ra23 was previously aircon. that means all the wiring is there, will the plug out of the ra40 aircon box hook to the ra23 plug. a thread with a guide would really help.

i am not the first to do this, heaps of people have done it, thats why they sell ra40 aircon stuff as a ra23 kit
If you're anywhere near Brisbane you can check out my factory aircon setup to see how it all works. I've been meaning to pull it all out anyway.

Theoretically the wiring should be the same. If the plug isn't the wire colours probably are.
Getting under there with the unit and checking the plug would be the first step and then back it up with wiring diagrams.

Simon, was my RA28 originally AC?? Or was that just something you threw into the bargain?? Anyways, if I find some time this arvo Ill have a check of my RA2x AC box, and the two RA40 AC boxes I have in the shed. Should be able to get a bit of an idea from that.

No it wasn't, It was however missing the cross pipe (or more correctly it was broken beyond reasonable repair.) I did find one but it never got in. I was planning A/C by summer so I the A/C box went in to get the heater operating to the vents properly. (iirc I needed to find a clip to secure it properly to the blower unit.)

Yeah, I got the clip... seems to be the same as the early RA40, but the facelift RA40 had a solid piece there.
As a note, I intended checking the two boxes for you, but took the work car home last night and left the RA28 in the work compound. Will try and do it tonight

nah i am gathering my information, atm this weekend i am going to rip my aircon box out my ra23 cause someone cut the pipes off, for both the aircon box and the heater box, so i am going to see if i can get a new core for the heater box and use the ra40 aircon box. i am going to start works this week end
