Jarrod, It will cost around 250 dollars, You will have to bring your old lining in to show them. Kustom motortrim in fyshwick can do it![]()

Sorry to sound like a prat, but have you ever thought about picking up the yellow pages and calling a few motor trimmers to get quotes??

Yea i would have but couldnt find the yellow pages, and didnt think to try it on the netOriginally Posted by MWP
. I have since found the yellow pages, it is being used as a stand for the screen of our other computer
And it did seem like the right place to ask seeing as how people who respray their car would often get their roof lining done too.
And thanks for the help neverland
Cheers

Just make it yourself... get a cheap old sewing machine (old one... with metal gears) and stitch the vinyl up yourself. It really isnt that hard.

Hey Sigmeister,
Did you spray your final coat with that cheapie gun? I just got my self pretty much the same gun from total tools cept it came with 1.4 & 2mm tips for just under 100$
Im not worried about a career in panel beating so i think i will just use the gun for both, i am just painting a falcon
If i ever respray a car that matters though ill look at a real gun

2.0mm for spray putty will result in two things:Originally Posted by GA61XX

You need at least 3.0mm + to apply spray putty correctly. Otherwise you're thining it out too much and it won't do the job it is intended for.
BTW, a 1.4 tip is good for 2pac but you use the 2.0 tip for acrylics.

The "spray putty" i use all the time actully works very well on the thinner side of things. I find when priming things that need some filling that more thin coats works beter than 1 or 2 thick coats because when you try to put it on thick it becomes hell "peely" and is a pain in the ass to rub back flat.trust me u dont need a 3.0mm setup youd be able to spray 95% of primers with a 2.0mm easy asYou need at least 3.0mm + to apply spray putty correctly. 80 grit is for wimps. go the 40 grit FTW(whos running and hiding now)
(seriosuly the work effort to cover up scores from 40 grit is UNBELIEVABLE)
my spray putty applications have worked fine with the 2.0mm gun....no issues, yes i do thin the spray putty a wee bit to get better coverage.
i find priming with the 2.0mm gun awesome. no issues at all.
my finals i've used both 2.0mm and tried 1.2mm - i found the 1.2mm for my final (acrylic remember) worked really well
horses for courses and what experiences you have PLUS the weather conditions you're spraying in, the gear you're using and the paint/thinners you're using. my shit is all motospray
Current plan is to use spot putty with a high fill primer, I'm not worrying about spray putty for now.
Had perfect weather for painting the last few days but been too lazy to do it! oh well
Thx for the tips, ill post pics of my progress
From memory, spot putty is the devil.
We've had issues with it taking forever to dry , shrinking and peeling up at the edges as it dries.
I don't like it.
For small indents and the like, I use spray putty and a small paint brush, or high fill primer and a small paint brush. It saves having to sand back big areas just to take out a small blemish, you just fill the bugger with spray putty. This is just for small stuff though.
I lead filled some damage to my door the other day, rather than bogging it, and that is a nice way to do it.
