    On the wiring diagrams I have for my car, if you pull that relay out, you loose power to the things I mentioned I'm pretty sure.

    Will check again later
    Edit: As for that power, I haven't noticed mine heat up, but again, I've never gone and out and touched the resistor afterwards.
    From electronics and electrical knowledge, it's a bit of heat that would build up, and you'd want some air flow.

    You may get away with it under the dash with a computer fan on it, with a good supply of air coming.

    But seriously, I'd just put it in the engine bay somewhere.

    Okay, it is only the pump that's after the relay.

    Just looked at diagrams again, sorry about that.

    And the airflow meter is powered via the EFI circuit, and is grounded via the ECU.
