    Question Toyota V6s?

Its probably been asked before but im having trouble finding the information I want to satisfy my curiosity.

What are all the model V6s toyota brought out? I need to know:

    a) What's the engine code?
    b) What model and year car it came from?
    c) Is it alloy block or cast Iron?
    d) Is it rear wheel or front wheel drive format?
    e) Any other information you think I might want to know, like capacity in cc, potential problems etc.

I dont know very much about toyota V6 engines and im trying to do some "research" on them like what's out there, and where to find them... and google aint giving me all the info I need ....

    Thanks Guys!

The hilux V6 was a 3VZ-E (yes, not an FE)....

the engine series you want to investigate are:
    - VZ series, 1VZ, 2VZ, 3VZ
    - MZ series
    - GR series

... there is probably more, but i cant think of them right now.

    NINJA EDIT!!!!

it's also worth noting that the MZ series engines are hard to use in RWD format, as the starter motor is mounted the opposite way to normal (meaning it goes towards the gearbox side of the flywheel, and not the engine side of the flywheel as on most other engines.

I'd still LOVE to put an MZ into my AE92 though

i've also wondered.... what fwd MANUAL gearboxes can be used on an MZ and a VZ engine?

    Does anyone know?

google-edit: I just did a little searching... looks like an SW20 3SG gearbox will bolt up to the 1MZ engine, with only a few non-essential bolts missing.

This is totally the next project for me. Without a doubt. I want a V6 corolla.

    Don't forget the 2GR-FE from the IS350.

Might be a bit pricey for you but it is RWD

E153 is the go on the end of any of the V6's, especially when you're slipping on into the rear of a MR2.

The IS250 and IS350 come with rear wheel drive direct injection V6's 4GR-FSE and 2GR-FSE respectively.

Guys this is AWESOME information! Was expecting a thread full of winging such as "what do you wanna put that engine in your car for, you're better off going 3tgte" kind of crap. Very impressed.

Will return to this thread when i do some more research on the info you guys have given me

The (2vzfe) in the gen 2 vzv21 Camry didn't come with a manual variant, all auto in Australia. The generation 3 Camry v6 (3vzfe) models were the first to receive the manual transmission. (e153)
