Default Microtech lt10 as fuel piggy back Qs

Hey guys I'm looking at a microtech lt10 a mate has cheap nd seeing what's required to run it as a fuel controller as atm im still running the factory dizzy setup and wanna leave that be till I can upgrade to coils. Will my factory ecu freak out if its not receiving air flow and fuel information or do I have to supply it with like a dummy reading so it still runs the ignition setup.

    Cheers

why not save your money and not get the microguess and replace the whole lot at a later date?

seems like a massive fuck around that MIGHT work (have seen it work with injected engines converted to carbs) but would be massive nightmare to tune and/or keep running. dont specifically need coil packs to run a programmable ECU, makes it easier but not required.

save money, buy ECU, replace crappy factory ecu, enjoy skids.

i havent really heard all that much bad about them :S either way it was going to be a fix while i do a rebuild of another motor then wire in with ignitor setup and do coils and what not then but just not sure how i can get around it with my current ecu still running the ignition side of things

is there a major problem with your current ignition set up that has required this push for ignition coils?

Nah igniton is fine atm its all fuel issues, i wanted it for the tuneability and to remove the afm, tho if i went full stand alone id need to mod my dizzy down to a cam aensor and install coils then as i dont think it will run my standard dizzy and ignitor

programmable ECU will work fine with dizzy and factory coil pack, the coil on plug is a nice to have but not necessary for programmable ECU. Biggest advantage of COP is that it provides stronger spark, but if your having fuel issues I'd suggest you try and sort that first before adding the new ECU as more than likely it will compound the fuel issues your having

Cant have been looking hard then.
There is nothing good to say about them, other than they are cheap.

Microtech ECUs should have all been put in the bin about 10yrs ago... as far as ECU technology goes, they are out of date by about 15yrs.
