Oil squirter's might not be there as psychofox mentioned and compression ratios differ between smallport and bigport so if it has a smallport bottom end it would have different pistons to a ae82 fx gt bigport engine ?

7 rib can have 18/40 internals...
AE86 was fitted with 7 rib blocks...
the crank pulley(if original) appears to be fwd(or mid engine)...
looking at the up close photo of the front of the head... you can see the fwd/mid engine block engine mount bolt holes... they DO NOT look used...

My current AE86 came with a 7 rib block with 18/40 internals. I know this wasn't a bastardized engine because the block had the vin plate rivetted to the engine....

exhaust side at very back of the block....

from the info... I'd say it likely was from an AE86.... although the crank pulley still is at odds with that. I'd bet you are likely to find 18/40 internals......

THAT(18/40) isn't bad *IF* you keep the engine n/a, for the stock 18/40 internals are the lightest of all the internals! A good machinist can prep the rods, balance the entire rotational assembly. Add a blacktop (or lighter still...) flywheel and you have the basics of an engine that transmits the most power to the driveline

take the other number on the piston (as well as 16020), plug into google = model of engine

Crank pulley suggest it was a FWD 16v. you didn't get any auxilaries so probably doesn't make much difference now.

the rwd cams apparently have more lift and duration.

those look like 9.4:1 pistons. If it's only got the 18/40 bottom end I personally wouldn't even bother putting it back together. If you've got an intended application for it you're probably better off starting with a better base engine - ie smallport AE92 hi-comp.
