are you 100% sure your vvt activates the exhaust, please check your motor again
i could be wrong but im pretty sure its the intake, and yes ignition signal come's from
rear of exhaust cam so i still could be wrong but you might be mistaken my friend, but
i insist on the might? jus double check

if it was on your exhaust cam it would retard the timing anyways, cause advancing
your exhaust cam will do nothing but open your exhaust valves during combustion

dunno. might just jam the solenoid so it's in the 'on' position, and run it like that.
it don't have to idle, it's just gotta be wiked on full noise...i love the limiter

If you have a look at Bill site (link above), the on position will work well between 4400 and 7000 RPM, which I'd say will be ideal for a turbo car.
