hey guys is there any way i can diagnose whether my ignitor on my silvertop is bad,
i dont have access to a spare to swap, unless someone offers one up..
when they heat up sumtimes they can start to play up i have heard which i think may be happening ?

if you leave the ignition on for a fair while with out the engine running they can cook
happened to a friends haltech one
i had one sitting here for 4 years sold it last week
its always the way once you get rid of something, you have a use for it straight after its gone. thats why im a big horder

yeh the car is fine cold and when u drive it for a bit
but once it gets warm up to temp thats when it plays up
and ignitors when they are fubared do the same..

try using a smallport ignitor perhaps?

Just curious, have you replaced the other ignition bits like leads, plugs?

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the easiest...

I believe they plug in yes. Ask someone if you could "loan" there 100kw ignitor unit or something. I'm sure someone has one lieing around.

ive replaced, all the leads, plugs, taken apart the plenum cleaned all the TBs out,
taken errors of the ECU, got O2 sensor, cos i dont have one, map sensor, but i dont have one those either being AFM, and i got AFM,
so took it to mechanics to get the AFM looked at, thought we had the issue sorted that the AFM was buggered, but we were wrong its running as it should,
so have started to look into the wiring, on wed im rewiring the AFM loom up as its really fucked up dodgey wiring, cuts everywhere and stickytape fixes..
but i have a feeling that its the ignitor as well, as the problem only surfaces when u get the car running a bit hot,
when cold its fine..
im looking at buying a ignitor at moment without any success no one has one..
also i dont no anyone with a 4age in the whole area

they have a different plug, I tried, electrically they are compatable though

though im not even 100% that the ignitor is the problem ?
thats why i either need a way to diognise it, or swap it around...
