The point is they don't check...hence the point is it doesn't matter that my other previous solutions are not standards approved.

Which is why I'm just trying to come up with a cheap solution to get me through until after my engine conversion (which involves messing around with the ignition/body loom) is complete when I will pay to get a good alarm system installed properly. At the moment I don't care if it is not the greatest security system in the world, I just want something to get the car over the pits and registered in the meantime.

Slight difference, no they won't check, but they may ask what brand of immobiliser you have.

just get the shadow, they're easy to install, and if you DIY it will be easy to remove and re-install after your conversion.

I wouldn't be messing with your body/ignition loom if I was doing the 2ZZ conversion loom myself... There's other ways to implement it retaining the factory immobiliser from the sportivo.

I will be trying to use the Sportivo factory immobiliser, which is why I will need to fiddle around with the MR2 Body/ignition harness...or am I missing something?

There is a lot of differing opinoin as to whether it will be possible to make that work so if that doesn't work I will be just going to PowerFC.
