Just bringing this thread back to reality, he still needs to comply with track width changes.
Which SEVERELY limits the choice of rims.
This of course depends on what the new hubs have changed the track too, which we still don't know.
becuase they have the 35-40mm boss on the wheel, my answer thanxthen again, the skyline rims (as i found recently) are +40, yet have enough clearance for a large sticky outy caliper...
should make a template acutly then hunt down some rims, pity you cant get those r32 5 spoke rims in 4 stud.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.

I've got the hoppers stoppers front brake kit ( pre AU Ford ) discs and hubs.
I'll measure the track today and see what it is. Does anyone know the original factory track. Google has shown me three different numbers so far....
I doubt you'll be able to measure the track successfully.
If you lower the car from factory height, the track will increase slightly.
You are best to measure the distance from the face of the hub to the a point on the strut, and then do the same on a stock setup and see the difference.

If the 7" rims are just clearing the struts by the minimum distance (10mm) then track should be ok. 6" rims never have a problem and usually clear by a reasonable amount. The width of the rim, well I havent yet checked NCOP for compliance with that so I cant comment.

By my calcs, if a 17x7 +35 hits the strut (assuming by 2mm, ie 5mm spacer gives 3mm clearance), then the track has been REDUCED by 22mm per side.
If you put a 17x7 +35 on a stock strut/hub you'd still have about 9mm clearance to the strut.
Those new hubs have the disc mounting face way inboard compared to stock.
To keep the track the same as stock you'll need to run a 0 offset rim (again, according to my calcs).

The current rims are 8" - not 7's.
Front track - measured from the middle of the tyre to middle of the tyre.
17x8 +35mm rim with a 5mm spacer - 1450mm
From the strut to the outside face of the disc is 135mm. From the strut to the outside of the rim is 225mm.
Rear track - measured from middle to middle
17x8 +35mm rim with a 5mm spacer ( behind the disc ) and MS123 hubs - 1425mm
The test rim must have been 7" - it had +38mm offset - and it cleared the strut by a good 8-10mm (thickness of a finger)
According to my calcs a 17x8 +35 will require a 5mm spacer to clear the strut, so it sounds like the rim mounting face of the hub is pretty much in the exact same spot as factory (give or take a mm or two).
Stock track is 1465mm with the 14x7 +8 rims.

Great - so I could use a 17x7 +38mm and have about 12mm of clearance to the strut.
Thank you for your help.
or get 17x8 +30's

Sorted - got the new rims from Otomoto
This is what happens when running without spacers - ouch !
The new 17x7 +38mm offset sits nicely - not as much room around the brakes - but still plenty.
Plenty of space now - about 10mm or so.

Just make sure your tyres dont bulge too much![]()

That looks like tyre rub not rim rub based on how far up the strut the marks are, so unless fitting narrower tyres you haven't solved anything. Centreline of the wheel is still in the same place and tyre will bulge very similar to the 8" rim.
Callum
They are indeed narrower rims - 7" instead of 8".
