1MZ wont idle.

Hey Hey,

My parents have a 1MZ Camry and are having a few problems.

It wont idle sometimes. It will start and rev up to 1000rpm and then die, If ya stab the throttle just after its started it will run but only at 2000rpm or what ever you have the throttle at and as soon as ya let it off it will die.

If ya rev it hard just after its started like 5000rpm hard it will idle fine after and be all goodly like.

I was thinking maybe a block idle stepper motor or something ?

Any help is appreciated.

You can drive it and it will be fine then turn it off, Run inside and grab the cigarettes run back out and start it and it will play up. Would only have to be off for a couple of minutes if that.

Its obviously got spark and fuel pressure, because it is firing up. Check the idle controller motor and clean. I'd check the cold start injector as well.
