    plenty of reason
in my experience cruise fuel economy can improve between 10-20% and less throttle is required to maintain cruising speed

    Agreed.
People who disconnect them and then claim their car "goes harder" need to learn how to tune ign timing properly or find a new mechanic.

We always remove vacuum advance on race dist's as race cars dont worry about fuel economy at cruise etc etc,
and we run the mechanical advance quite high so you dont want vacuum advance adding in any more.

If you just unplug the vacuum line on a normal car, you should'nt notice too much of a difference apart from fuel economy and cruise driving.

Do you try to work these things out for yourself at all, or do you just jump on here and ask?

Asking things like this when 5mins of thinking/tinkering on your part would probably answer the question will give you a bad rep... a problem when you do have a serious question you want to ask.

    Its probably ok.
Check the weights in the bottom of the dizzy too... make sure they can move freely.
These do have a big effect on performance, and can sieze up easily.
