Final tune results today,limitations of time,money and combinations of bothstill left me with a good result.
1j with my manifold supporting garret gt3076 as Jampac uses with 1j to reach 400rwhp [same turbo,not same manifold] Havent heard of anyone else hitting this figure with the comparitively small but extremely responsive gt3076 with .82 exhaust housing.
Jampac's posts have lots of info,pics,graphs etc.Lots of time,money and good gear etc.My story is much more simple.
This 1j is in a cressida.Manual gearbox r154.Turbo as above.Emanage s\hand piggyback.2 or 3 hours tuning in total.550cc sard injectors.Walbro in tank fuel pump."hiperboost" air bleed boost control on tial 38mm wastegate.Good exhaust with twin cats.fmic.
Thats it for a comparitively easy 375 rwhp wound back a little for a safe tune of 370 at approx 16psi.limiting factor is the emanage.Its the old story......"speed costs money,how fast do you wanna spend" and "the way to make a small fortune from motorsports is to start with a Large fortune"![]()

Better management and more tuning and results like Jampacs 400rwhp can be had.
The engine is stock 1j internally.the boost may be more 17 than 16psi.
With more dyno time and a few tricks we could have pulled more power but i had put enough time,money and effort in.Jumping from my previous tune of 302rwhp on the stock turbos to 370 with a potential ceiling of 400..........I am not that driven,i felt it was good enough.
I reckon dyno pulls and heat etc is hard on cars.I was scared my poor baby might disintegrate after watching my hand made manifold glow cherry red and have little flames dance over the heat wrap..............![]()

I dont have all the guff on how it was tuned etc,if i did it would be posted in the section for dyno details etc.Intention of the post was really to promote this type of setup as a good,powerful and really streetable combination.
I think there is possibly too much emphasis on the bigger turbos for cars that are mainly street driven where mid range power is king.[good boost under 3000rpm]
Thats a pretty good result man. My 1JZ topped out at 365rwhp on 22psi with the old shitty ebay china T70 (It ate shit 2 days later). Im hoping for the same amount of power from the brand new t04 at slightly lest boost. Im hoping to crack the 400hp mark atw without swapping injectors too. Has all the usual goodies, wolf3d, fmic, 3" exhaust china manifold, 44mm wastegate, big fuel pump and 3 x bosch twin spark coilpacks.

wow... thats huge amount of power... mine max out 407rwp at 24psi boost... maybe due to the humidity in my country i couldnt achieve that kind of massive hp

The manual certainly appears to make more power on dyno than auto as IIRC Jampac was making around 270rwkw@17-18psi. I am sure he will correct if I am wrong.
BTW Pete, don't forget to add this info. the the 1jz dyno database aboveSend me a link to the picturetrail account if you want and I can set it up for you.
Also, when are you hitting Willowbank? I want to see this thing runBoostloosing got another drag day on the 28th Oct, $90 for 6 hours with only 90 cars there if you are interested

Personally I think another 2PSi will se it jump a bit in power and have you nearly where you wanted to be...
What kind of boost controller are you using? Doesnt seem like a nice flat boost curve...
