    Default sequential injection X12

    What are my options???

obviously it's gonna cost me a kidney but what are my options for running sequential injection on my v12? Would be nice if it supported vvti also but i guess a loss in potential low end torque isn't going to worry me too much (it is a v12 after all).

    2 x sm4?
    motec???

I am nearly at the point of bolting this thing in. Just sorting out the transmission setup and then it's time to mock fit.

Any input from the guru's out there would be appreciated.

M800 with VCT and 12 cylinder injection enabled. You'll need an ignition expander too.

    Can't comment on the Autronic.

what sort of coinage we talking?

12cyl injection is an extra right?

really starting to warm up to the idea of a single ecu to run the show, even if it is a motec, haha.

    Tried FJO?

I KNOW they build "bullet-proof" stuff, they have a few vids online of the abuse their systems can take. Maybe they'd be willing to put something together for you.....

Mid 3K for the box, 700ish for VCT, 2-300 for ignition expander, loom, sensors, 12 cylinder option. You might be able to buy 10 cents of mixed lollies with the change from 6K.

In all honesty, I haven't looked at the other Motecs (M400 or 600) but would be worth chatting to them and weighing up your options. It's a lot of jingle jangle.

hmm... they don't into any details about their ecu's... if anything i would rather buy an off the shelf item that would work with my setup. After sales support is something you'll need and someone local would be the way to go for me....

I wonder what are my chances of getting sponsorship? Wouldn't mind doing the magazine and carshow rounds.

Car's getting wide bodied, sprayed, v12 TT......

    /end pipe dreaming.

    EDIT: referring to FJO

With motecs, your best bet is to call up a dealer and request a quote

The "off the shelf" price is for the box, as GT mentioned.

On top of this, you pay extra for all the things GT said (quite a lot extra, actually), more for a wideband o2 sensor, more for drive by wire... basically more for everything.

An 800 to adequately deal with my vvti drive-by-wire 2jz was more than double the cost of an SM4. Of course, if I had a V12 I'd probably buy the m800 and be done with it.

    hmmm m800
    vvti control
    ignition and injection expanders
    loom
    wideband o2

running a cable throttle... i despise dbw

I have a feeling once all in and installed, i shouldn't be surprised to see a bill for 10k just for the management side of things

for kicks here are a few old pics of the engine while being stripped back.

Stupid imageshack...wont show the damn pics.

    I also ditched dbw

on monday, just jump on the motec site and call a few of their dealers for quotes. They all came out pretty much the same for me on costs (give or take a few hundred, which is nothing when you're talking about $5-6k)

Dude, it's a big complex engine.
Get a good engine management system and do it properly.
    That means Motec or Autronic.

they were my 2 main choices. If i go autronic, i'll pretty much have to run 2 ecu's..... if i go motec, it'll look likely to cost towards the 8k mark and that's being conservative. I don't have a choice. Looks like it may just be an m800

remembering 2 autronics would cost you $4k as a minimum figure for the boxes. then everything that goes with that.... I think the initial outlay of $2k more initially for the M800 would be offset by fewer issues come time for diagnostics, tuning, and generally making stuff work

Keep in mind the engine comes from the factory with 2 completely independent ECU's, fuel pumps, lines, plenums, throttles, AFM's, etc. Essentially it's setup as two inline sixes which happen to be joined together. I see no reason you couldn't continue with this idea, and have a pair of mid-range ECU's (say Haltech E11) running each bank. I'm sure it would work out cheaper than a super-duper Motec with all the fruit, which frankly seems like overkill if you're not building a serious race car.

EDIT: why is sequential injection so important anyway? It's mostly an emissions thing, it won't increase performance at all.
