The sliver box thing with the two yellow wires coming out of it...
Hi all,
Just about to wire my thermo fans up but this thing is bolted to one of them and only wired to one fan..
Looks something like this:
I think im going to just leave it out but if i need it please let me know...
Thanks,
Pisso.

Looks a lot like a fan resistor for running the fan at a slower speed. If you don't intend to use it, remove it.
Oh right... That sorta makes sence.. Hmmm might use it one one fan.. So do i just hook it up to the negative and positive wires on the fan i want it on?
Thanks heaps,
Pisso.
mine had that thing two, i ditched it.
Yep i ditched it... Anyone know how to put an over ride switch on the thermo fans?
ahhhh depends how they are wired? Are they traditionaly wired via a relay triggered by coolant temp sender?Originally Posted by pisso001
if so just back tap a wire running through a toggle switch connected to ground. that will override the temp sender.
Yeah ive wired them like you said.. So i put the override switch wire on before the temp sender, then to ground?
Thanks,
Pisso.
yeah the temp sender is a switch itself which switches ground to trigger the relay. it is grounded through its thread/housing then sends the ground signal through the single wire to the relay so effectively you can duplicate the same thing with a ground wire running through a toggle switch to your relay. just splice it into the temp sender wire etc. and then you have a bypass![]()
Sweet.. Thanks for that.. Very helpfull..
