.8 i think.. same as the 1j's
could be wrong tho.. i know its in the ga thread on sf.com.au
hey guys, I put some ngk iridium plugs in my 1g couple of days ago and went to the track and took it for a run and it ran like a dog so i put the old ones back in and it ran fine again. I notice when i had both plugs out the gap was noticably different, any one know the appropriate spark plug gap size for a 1ggt/ze???

the last didgit in the plug code tells you the GAP size, so, 8 is0.8mm......11 is 1.1mm, and 15 is 1.5mm
if there is no last didgit, its usually 1.1mm gap
they should be .8
blake
Alot of the Iridiums are 1.1mm unless specified as 0.8mm... Always check them after purchase with a good set of feeler guages.

denso are factory plugs. and over here they ae cheaper from toyota than NGK form anywhere.
all toyota forced induction egines that i can recall off hand are 0.8mm gap.
those that reckon copper plugs are fine, they can be. but if your upping power they often are not. unless you like replacing plugs![]()
I DONT WORK FOR TOYOTA ANYMORE
please, no more PMs!
i ran mine at .8 and had no issues till over 22psi which you would get the occasional missfire, down to .7 seems to fixed that tho

Or, you could just look at the plugs you pulled out of the engine when you bought it from me, and put those back in before you blow it up or melt something. 5's are so ridiculously too hot for that engine its not funny!!!
The plugs the engine needs are R5671A-7. Don't gap them, they are fine out of the box, and if your engine is fouling them up, get a better tune, not a better plug. If and when you get a bigger turbo, you need to replace these plugs with R5671a-8's. These plugs and nubers go for anyone else running a decent HP 1G as well. At least if you'd like to minimise misfires.
