So no one knows about the fixed back seats and FIA expiry dates?

Because Revolution Racegear and numerous other places sell seats that are close to or expired at time purchase.

Be a shame to buy a nice new seat and then be told you can't use it for club events because it has expired.

that's good info mate, i didn't know that... then again, i don't think i've come across anyone still using 2 inch harnesses.. aren't normal seat belts 2 inch + 3 point anyway?
Research has shown child in front seat causes accidents, accident in back seat causes child

hey ed long time no talk.
Its strange you should mention they dont have an expiry date as the one i have here appears too. Its an english belt 2" and the tag reads "Harness should be returned to the manufacturer for inspection once a year and replaced every two years" and on the bottom of the tag: Date of manufacture 1993. The belt itself is literally brand new (popped the plastic myself).

So your saying that expiry doesnt matter? or they normally dont have an expiry on them?

Ben: So basically the fact im wearing a harness is irrelevant as long as i have the lap sash over the top?

That might be the easiest solution.

ITs mainly just to keep me in my seat Last time i raced i dropped a heap of time trying to stay in my seat (ma61 supra)

Thats cos you need better suspension .

Never had an issue with the stock belts in my car on the hill climb or on quick direction changes on the skid pan.

says the man driving a car i farted in

    Oh and ed built

Yea i know its true but spending big dollars on suspension is outta my reach at the moment.

What time did you get at huntley? my best was a 31.13 which i recon was me not trying hard enough. I couldnt bring myself to go flat through the fork. A well sorted 7m powered ma61 would easily beat me i would say. Ya i moved stores looking after narellan now, hows the car with the new suspension?

PS Ed had gay sex on the back seat of that car

nate - an expiry date will be explicitly labelled... like "expires 2011" or something... service and inspection intervals are recommendations only

and yes it was a good fart

    nope - no adr req

though - if it looks like shite and appears old and tattered and unsafe, a scrutineer may bend you over for it anyway regardless.

    sweet thanks man

Na its a brand newly just old.

How far off is you car?

Nice work rona. Ill see how much quickier i am with a harness in september. Harness = more balls. I should be faster then what i am really.

Something other the 20+ year old suspension might be helpful too

I guarantee you won't be allowed to run with that belt at Huntley. I'm an official there....The chief scrutineer will pick it up quick smart and you'll just be using your lap-sash belt. If it's a 4 point harness it needs to have on of the following tags on it:

    FIA 8854/98
    FIA 8854 - 1991
    SFI 16.1
    AS 2596
    ECE R16.

If none of those aren't on there, or it's out of date - you can't use it.

No one is probably interested but straight from CAMS I have this response regarding seats:

So buying an expired seat is of no concern for most of us.
