UPDATE:
just had the injectors cleaned and flow tested, unfortunately none of them were blocked solid, but i put them back in and its still running poorly,
however now its not running on cylinders 2 and 3 instead of 1 and 2?????![]()

yea original injectors, they worked literally 24 hrs before i started the conversion as they were always running on the car.
today i put in an aftermarket FPR and a variable fuel pressure gauge, im getting absolutely fine pressure no matter where i set it, so i swapped the injectors around between the cylinders to see if it changed the non working cylinders but the engine was carrying on so much it was too hard to say![]()
so ive dropped the injectors off to be cleaned and i pick them up tomorro arvo, so ill update then , thanks for the suggestions pls keep them coming!!

do you have any massive air gaps?
what throttles are you using? not blacktops?
are there any holes that are not plugged?

Do the above! The manifold pressure signal is too messy to work properly with any ECU otherwise. I have a huge inlet volume in my custom plumbed SC14 setup, but still I had problems on my sc14 AW11 due to manifold pressure fluctuations created by the supercharger under light boost, it was solved by 'plugging' a small 'damping' chamber into the map line.run them to a chamber..

theyre Silvertop throttles, all holes a re plugged or capped off, i dont have any air leaks that im aware of?Originally Posted by oldcorollas
where can you get a vacuum chamber thing like the ones your talking about? i dont have the resources at home to buy one, and i found one on the net, but ships only to US...
umm.. a plain old carby fuel filter will work as the chamber... and if you had to do it on the cheap, you could use some T and X vacuum hose connectors to hook all the lines together before going into it.Originally Posted by DaveW
for the restrictor, you could use a Mig welding tip (ie, a few cm long and with a 1mm hole in it), or.. well.. anything really...
doesn7t need to be fancy, just needs to have some volume to dampen the pulsing.

Are you surei dont have the resources at home to buy one? I used this from a 4AGZE. Didn't cost me a cent. Its a one way valve, but just perforate the diaphram with a 1.5mm drill bit or other...

edit :: oops, I forgot you have four lines to connect, but you could use a few T's to join them all up and then this gizmo just before the ECU to try and prove its on the right track for a solution.

so basically its function would be to store the air so that the map sensor drawing on the vacuum gets a steady signal instead of pulses?
and this whole thing is starting to do my head in, i dont have the slightest clue how, but as a result of tightening bolts, unplugging and replugging in injectors, etc today.... its now running on cylinders 2 and 4 and not on 1 and 3????????????????????? im wonderingg if one of the gaskets hasnt sealed and its whats causing the problem..? is my problem a likely symptom of a badly sealing gasket?
how hard would it be to put the other maifold back on and check it is nothing to do with the engine? ie, if it works fine, then it MUSt be something to do with either the throttle bodies, or the MAP signal, and nothing else...
it is possible something could have been bumped during installation (but symptoms still sound weird)
it does kinda sound like it is a shitty MAP signal tho...
are the throttle plates balanced (opening same amount)?
and yes, the function is to buffer the pulsing MAP signal from each cylinder, so that the sensor just sees a smooth signal.
to start, try squeezing the line to the MAP sensor.... you might need to squeeze a lot.. ie, almost closed... and see if that makes any difference at all.

ill try squeezing the line to see if that helps... it'd be quite an effort to swap the old manifold back on i think, but i guess push is coming to shove really... the throttles arent perfectly balanced, when you apply throttle the TBs on cyl 3 and 4 open slightly earlier, but surely once u keep applying throttle and 1 and 2 are open (so all 4 are open) that fact becomes redundant? "off" throttle they all remain closed together...
How is the car going? You having any joy yet?

unfortunately notit was keeping me out of work for too long (because of lack of transport) so ive bolted it all back together as it originally was, and its running liike a brand new one again..
thanks for all the help etc ill continue to rep once ive spread sum luvin
btw, this isnt the bigport\smallport port mismatch issue?
while everything is off, check there are no holes or anything that could introduce air...
any pics of the throttle setup? (ie, top and bottom)
