No, 1JZ-GTE is different to 2JZ-GE, and 2JZ-GTE is different again.

eBay is your friend, you should be able to pick up a stainless 1JZ manifold for not much more than $200.

most of the time they are a pretty decent quality item for what you pay.

Obviously not as nice as a $1k+ job made by either a professional or a big name company, but not terrible.

Biggest piece of advice I can give (from my research prior to buying an e-bay job) is to add an extra bit of bracing from the turbo flange to near the ports, to stop any sag from what is typically fairly thin-walled steel

PM me Bigwad. I have a brand new external gate single manifold that I won't be using which I will sell to you for what I paid for it.

I can't fault the eBay manifold I have. It's definitely not thin-walled, the tube is reasonably thick and flanges are very hefty, welds look decent as well. Extra bracing never hurts though.

I had one a while back that a picked up cheap as to use as a basis for a manifold I was going to make. I didn't like it much. Figured I'd just build it all from scratch rather then modify that one. Thin walls, poor match on the flange and poor fitting of the runners to the flange.

It's kind of luck of the draw from what I can tell

I can't actually fault mine.. it looks pretty decent, and the guy who almost fitted it to his engine before me had already cleaned up the insides with a dremmel weld on a $2 bit of off-cut steel (and a t3 flange), and all good!

Early eBay manifolds were crap but they've gone through a number of revisions and the newer ones are actually quite good.

The 3 sitting in the corner of my shop that are cracked and rewelded numerous times says differently

In terms of quality, you get what you pay for, pay peanuts, you get monkeys, not all monkeys play up straight away, eventually they all get into mischief If you aren't worried about fixing it down the track, or won't have it together long, you prob can't go past an ebay style manifold for cost/performance ratio, however be aware, they will all crack eventually, and some may lose slag and destroy a turbine wheel.

I have one of these Monsta Manifolds on my 1JZ Cressida. Car is still in the process of the big single conversion, so I can't really comment on the performance of it.

However, I can tell you that for $200, it isn't all that bad. I sent mine away to get strengthened with some bracing, and the piping will need a little bit of modification for the right wastegate to fit. Once that is done. it will be getting HPC coated for heat resistance and extra strength

I can get your some pictures if you like...

the ebay manifold i got for my 1J is fine... i got one of the earlier ones and altho its not as good as the Trust item i used to have, i couldnt keep using it, as it wouldnt fit in the engine bay of my 180sx - rubbed the chassis rail... so the ebay special was sourced and after modding the wastegate flange, it fitted perfectly... it even had bracing on the it.. tho as mentioned above, they can always use more.

    i agree here.
ive had countless numbers of them come through and they are shit.
they crack around the collectors and there general design and quality is shit.

look at 6 speed's sig ( the poor quality product remains long after the cheap price is forgoten )

    cheers

I have an ebay manifold for my 1JZ. They seem to heat up pretty full on after 20mins on the dyno at full song.. I suppose any manifold would do that. In any case man, all i did was weld some thick stainless support rods to where the turbo mounts, to the manifold flange, and one from the wastegate flange to the turbo manifold, for structural purposes, and i works a treat.

I wouldnt reccomend putting one on unless your brace and reinforce it though. Other then that, they work great. Held up my T70 on 22psi and my new T04 so far, so good.
